I really love the patchwork idea, it's such a great metaphor for his origin story and I'm totally jealous I didn't think of it myself.

In fact, I hope you wouldn't be offended if I did adopt the idea in my own work. I'd absolutely give you the credit for it. It just seems so obvious in hindsight that I can't get it out of my head now.

Ouch!! to hot. Fantastic submission man. I love the way he looks more human. The look sort of separates him from the other ninja characters who have more rugged attires. The drawing itself is pretty flawless. But your works always been good. I'm liking the pants that you give him as again it gives him more of a human feel. Well I know he is originally designed to look human but the look you give him makes it look, I dunno sort of vulnerable a little bit, I don't know if you intended to do that.

But yeah very good submission 5/5

Excellent as usual.

i really like the kind of patchwork outwork, also its a good simplistic design but with enough detail that its not boring.

I hope you do Sareena in you 2010 remakes tongue.

This is an incredibly simple design with nothing flashy to it and I feel like there's something missing. I like the patchwork idea, but you could have done so much more with it than just making it resemble the typical MK ninja garb. And that cloth that flows from the back looks a bit misplaced. I can't figure out how that is attached to his outfit; if it is a part of his hood or if it is simply pinned to his back.

As a character, Ermac is a rather complex character and has throughout the games become this sage-like sorcerer who relies on his telekinetic powers and is in touch with the One Being itself, as seen in his MKD ending - "He sensed, however, that an ominous force still shaped the destiny of the realms." - and I don't feel like this design reflects that.

Overall a nice drawing, but I just feel like it is incomplete or as if something is missing. Perhaps it is just too simple for my taste. :P

I absolutely love the broad simplicity of it yet how every detail is in perfect line.

Love that without reinventing the ninja outfit, you gave him a totally unique feel and look. The flowiness of the pants, the naked arms with the decorative ties, the draping cowl cloth, give him a whore different personality from the other ninjas, i think its great.

At the risk of being that guy, I'm gonna poo-poo it as an Ermac brief.

I think the patchwork man 'metaphor' is far too obvious a concept, the kind of thing that should be avoided at all costs for reasons of dignity. It's also an unsubtle compromise to keep the palette swap look, which was so splendidly deviated from in the Deception redesign.

We've always seen Ermac as a cohesive being, despite his legion state. I think the more artful way to reflect his character is to use blended cultural references to create something diverse in it's sources, but subtle and unique to the character. You might say they did that to some extent in the redesign he got, but you could certainly layer in more of a warrior motiff, so long as it didn't bang the patchwork concept over the head.

This is the type of drawing I'd file away though, for future reference.
I don't think it services the Ermac design brief very well, but it could easily be shuffled to and adapted for another character. It might be useful for a more streamlined Baraka design, or other characters who would have a reason to cobble together a makeshift outfit.

Well, we can't all have the educational benefits of being unwashed peasants. [1] I'm sure JAX007 really appreciates the 101 deviation, though. Good job.
yet again a fantastic job, and i love the patch work look
