I had to go with Scorps...I love both characters...they're two of my franchise favorites, but Scorp has always been one of my go-to characters, along with Sub, Shang and Johnny. I really had to think on this one, but Scorps it is.
Edit: And my vote just made this a 50/50 matchup. Shit just got interesting.
That said, voted for Kenshi, who's my favorite character. Nothing against Scorpion though.
Kenshi was super interesting in the original timeline. The blind swordsman captured everyone’s hearts but has remained relatively idle since the reboot.
Kenshi’s stagnation makes Scorpion the clear winner here.
Voted for the lost soul(bent on revenge).
... here's your Subzero, now plain zero.
Funny how Scorpion has been getting the shaft every year due to being "overrated", yet Sub-Zero gets a pass and has won more than one year this thing. Truly hypocritical!
What are you going to do? It is true, being overrated instantly grants you a free pass.

Bizarro voting against the popular characters is a load of donk. Kenshi is really good but Scorpion is great and I look forward to seeing who he drinks tea with next.

22 wins 6 losses Record 12 wins 6 losses

Raiden used himself to cleanse Earthrealm's jinsei aura of the corruption wrought by fallen Elder God Shinnok. Darkened by the experience; the tnunder god protects his domain with renewed zeal -- warning potential enemies of the fury of his storm.
Cyrax was programmed to serve the Lin Kuei as an automated assassin, but upon his liberation by Sub-Zero, and defeat of Sektor, he chose to destroy himself rather than become new Grandmaster. In doing so he destroyed the remaining cyber warriors, granting the clan a fresh start under Kuai Liang.
Will Raiden's warning curb continued conflict with the Netherrealm - or fan the fires of war? Could Cyrax's tainted soul be made to return as a revenant soldier for new rulers? Choose their destiny! FIGHT!

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - ROUND 3:
Kung Lao versus Liu Kang
#12 Supreme Ranking #28
13 wins 6 losses Record 6 wins 6 losses
Quarters (2012) Best Result Round 3 (2012)
Kung Lao is a direct descendant of Earthrealm's greatest champion - but his corrupted soul was made to serve Netherrealm during Shinnok's invasions. He remains a revenant with the other fallen champions, survived by a new generation who may yet help him undo the dark magic of his curse.
Liu Kang shared in the grim fate of Earthrealm's fallen warriors, becoming a revenant slave controlled by Quan Chi. His new master, and the fallen Elder God Shinnok were seemingly destroyed, leaving the corrupted Liu Kang to rise as new ruler of Netherrealm!
They fought as Shaolin warriors and champions of Earthrealm - but now Kung Lao and Liu Kang dwell in the fires of Netherrealm! Will Kung Lao be free to fight against his new ruler, or be subjugated to Liu Kang's reign in Hell? Choose their destiny! FIGHT!
Kung Lao was a more interesting character in the original timeline. Unfortunately, ever since Shaolin Monks, he’s been stuck with the whole “impetuous warrior” act instead of the badass Shaolin monk who only fights when he has to.
Voted-Liu Kang
Surprised Liu Kang is falling behind considering he’s the most interesting he’s been in years.

Voted-Liu Kang
I remember Kung Lao defeating Liu Kang in the same poll last year or two years ago, so I expected it.
I expect Kung Jin to play a role in restoring Kung Lao's soul in the future so I believe it's only a matter of time before he joins the good side again. With Liu Kang, it's more ambiguous since he's now the ruler of the Netherrealm. I look forward to seeing how things will turn out for Liu Kang: will he turn good or will he stay evil permanently.
