I don't like both characters. They didn't match my playstyle in MK9. My vote goes to Rain, because I somewhat enjoyed playing with him in UMK3 (home versions) and MKA.

Even though I like Rain I voted for Sheeva she is a beast.

Anyhoo, my vote goes to Sheeva. She and Rain aren't terribly original to begin with but Rain is at the bottom of the barrel in that department.
Plus, I liked her in Defenders of the Realm. Shoot me.

Well, he was the 10th ninja palette swap in the games, and was named after a Prince song. Doesn't matter if he's from Edenia or Mars.
Plus, his storyline could really use a shot in the arm. (Same goes for Sheeva, fo that matter.) I think only Jade has been more useless in terms of the ninjas.

Rain is purple, and thus Sheeva is instantly tougher. Sheeva wins.

Sheeva at one point was my second favorite character in the whole franchise, good ole '95.

I went with Rain, not because I like him, but because I really dislike Sheeva. But that Super Roundhouse is pretty awesome.

Hm... i think i pick up Sheeva. She was one of the few grabbler in MK9 and i enjoyed to play with her.
