Not sure why some people are surprised with the characters that reached this high in the tournament. It's a popularity contest, and usually the most popular (and most hated) characters tend to be the same ones in each game.

Ninja freak so I like them odds.

Guys, this is supposed to be a fun thing we do for shits and giggles. There are no prizes, there are no ramifications if your character wins, and so there shouldn't be this much bickering. Look, I'm as big of an Ermac fan as they come. I'm used to my guy ending up as the bridesmaid. Ermac lost in the finals twice in a row when I ran tournaments and he's gotten that far in one of these as well. Vote for your guy or girl, hope he or she wins, and when it's all over let's all go back to being somewhat friendly.

Sorry the ninja's have large fan bases? The tournament is for the most liked character. Shouldnt the character with the largest fan base win? What's more predictable than that? If a character has a large fan base you should be asking why? and the answer is probably because they are just plain bad ass.

Quan Chi has been eliminated 3rd round, 2nd round, 3rd round, and I'm not complaining about it, I know Quan Chi will most likely never win this in a million years, but I don't complain about it.

Although I don't entirely empathize with the whole anti-"ninja" sentiment, seeing as Sub-Zero is one of my favorite characters, I understand how it could get tiring to see the usual suspects making it to the finals year in and year out.

I don't remember a lot of people predicting Fujin and Shang Tsung making the finals. Some people seemed convinced Scorpion would be a title contender. Jade wasn't especially touted to outlast Smoke. Only 1/7 of the remaining options is a former title winner. As far as "predictable" goes, the quality of these predictions is pretty shabby. You don't even have significant repetition. The permutations keep changing. They don't have to, but they are. As MKX reshuffles the deck - they'll change again.

Like any competition tournament, the real juice is in the minutiae.

Some are confusing common sense and a common understanding of the characters and their status/roles for "predictability". Some are focusing on their favourite characters with blinders on. Consider the bigger picture and take a textured look at the results. There's more than champ/not champ.


I wouldn't. She's one of only four characters to have a hat trick of finals.
Her elimination numbers have been pretty good, too: 2012 Sub-Zero (39.5%), 2013 Ermac (49.3%), 2014 Sub-Zero (47.3%).

Is anyone seriously operating under the illusion that Kitana is the top character in the series? I'd like to think even the most obsessed fan recognizes that isn't the case. MK2011 did her few favors and there's still doubt about MKX significance. She's a solid finalist. A steady presence. That's probably a pretty fair, complimentary assessment for the time being.


I dig these numbers. He dropped a round in '13, got it back in '14. Can he hold it? Will his numbers go up or down after MKX? Will his draw improve next year (having had some tough runs)? Can he improve against rivals?

I'm under the impression that the majority of kitana fans are fat nerds that fap all day at home. That's why she gets so many votes.

His MKX showing really impressed me. I loved his simple updated outfit (less is more), his crazy detailed lightning effects, and his awesome gameplay.

Ever since Noob was revealed to be Bi-Han I stopped liking him.

I can't believe Noob may actually beat Raiden here. Jesus.

Given that practically every MK ninja has a sizeable fan base simply for being a ninja, I'm not surprised that Noob is winning. Though I'm hoping for a last-minute upset in Raiden's favour.
