I want to say Erron Black but honestly I have to say Ferra/Torr. With Ferra/Torr I just can't see beyond the gimmick. There practically is nothing beyond the gimmick. They already demonstrated to us how short the characters life span is. There's no room for development. Torr has a short life span then Ferra just becomes like him. There's nowhere to really take them beyond the gimmick.

Quan Chi....I guess? It's hard to say when the 3D era is a bit of a disjointed mess. One game plays like none of the others. Then two don't have a consistent roster beyond 3 newcomer characters from Deadly Alliance. Armageddon can go straight to hell. I don't take it into consideration when discussing the 3D era. I digress, the bottom line is I can't say I ever had a consistent new character seeing how the rosters were so inconsistent during those times.

13. Best MKX Newcomer

D'Vorah. No contest. She's the Kenshi of MKX. (The only MKX character who's going to have any longevity.)

14. Worst MKX Newcomer

Throw a dart! Okay, okay I won't be that difficult. Kotal Kahn. Not only is he just an absolute bore character wise, he also looks painfully out of place especially for an Outworlder. Now I know, Outworld is basically a melting pot of species and cultures from all over the universe but even then they often share a common aesthetic when it comes to style of dress and such. Kotal just doesn't click at all with that Hyborian meets Oriental aesthetic. He's the Dairou of MKX.

15. Most Underrated Character

Gather all the 3D era characters and throw a dart. Yeah fine that's a cop out answer. Fine I'll go with a pre 3D character. Nightwolf. A painfully underappreciated and under utilized character. I think he should have taken over the role of mentor character from MK3 onward. Hell, the guy did better by the Earthrealm crew than Raiden has for the last last two decades.

16. Most Overrated Character

Scorpion and I'll even extend an olive branch and throw my pal Sub-Zero in there too. That's not to say they're bad or I want them gone. They're just overrated.

Not to derail the thread but the guy has only been in two games and the only reason it's been two is because they had to put him in Armageddon. Just like Motaro, Hsu Hao and Chameleon. He may have a vocal but small cult following within MKO but that doesn't change the fact that when it comes to attention received from NRS and the general audience he is wildly underrated.

Of the reveals thus far I’m looking most forward to Skarlet. Though that may change as more characters pop up. I look forward to seeing how Cassie plays in MK11, as I mained her in MKX.

This small cult extends well beyond MKO. I see it across all social media, and not to mention Boon’s twitter page is always bombarded with annoying Fujin requests whenever a new MK game is in development. I don’t get his appeal and never will, he’s just a very bland old guy in the same category as Shujinko for me. Yet people commit mass suidice for him if he’s not included in a game.

OVERRATED.
