Excited to see what’s in store.
20 years. Bravo, sir, bravo. I remember people were outraged when the site changed it's name from mk5.org to mortalkombatonline. Can you imagine if it was still mk5.org when the 11th installment of the game is about to come out? lol

Check out @MK_Online’s Tweet: https://twitter.com/MK_Online/status/1075818438503923712?s=09
I’ll be checking it out.

This was THE place to go to for MK discussion.
Then MK11 was announced and there were only 14 users on. I obviously get why, times have changed in the world online but what confuses me is MKO is supposedly "BACK IN ACTION" with all these livestreams and new staff and what not but somehow refuse to do anything about this site that hasn't been updated since 2005. What is going on out there? Why am I still looking at ancient web design? Like some fuckgin geocities shit here.
So.... I am eating some fucking crow here now. Welcome back MKO, I missed you
Any updates?
It's nice to see the site has had a facelift, but I must admit, it's about a decade too late.
I would be thoroughly surprised to see the site flourish back even close to where it was. Twitter has become a much stronger hub.
Still, I am a MK fan, and MKO was my first gaming community, so, as I said before, I'll always find myself coming back. Guess we'll just have to see what the future holds.
Nowadays it's pretty much social media that has destroyed forums. I mean, let's face it, these forums are a major update from the BBS days but Forums are too a thing of the past. It's 2 hours before the Big Reveal and only about 13 people are on, I suspect more during obviously but in any case there are more mainstream sites and social media avenues covering it. Add to the fact this new site design is deplorable on mobile devices, now the mobile computing of today, and you can see why. Plus this new upgrade is only a face lift, a lot of the older content, like game and movie information, when it even works, remains the same. Throw in the fact we have to actively participate to activate more site themes and honestly more and more people will just use the Twitch and other social media platforms. I'm pretty sure if you're watching an MKO twitch it doesn't show the number of people online but if it does then not a lot is happening. Not to mention a new generation of people, many whom came after the popularity of forums, are embracing the social media culture more. Plus more people are embracing media, so text-based content is pretty obsolete (like my site, unfortunately) and thus you see a lot less fanatics who obsessed over MK by building the same repetitive sites using the same animated GIFs, etc like we seen during the '90s and first decade. Plus we basically know all the game's secrets and finishing moves the day of release and it leaves many of us without the thrill of discovering them ourselves or waiting for the next couple of issues of GamePro or EGM to reveal them. Not to mention these magazines don't really exist anymore now that the Web offers them in a variety of platforms.
For site admins, it's really a pain to run a site anymore. You gotta have a FB, a Twitter, an IG, and some even have SnapChat or Patreon or Pinterest and MKO also has Twitch and I believe a few others.
On a computer I love the site design. On my phone, no because I only see the main news item and cannot browse any older news.
I've been away from the site for quite a while. Started posting/commenting here before Deception I think and now I just see 2 people from the old days at most now. I absolutely remember Alpha though. The nostalgia. :-)

@gorostilllives You sure of that? :P
Thank you for the feedback, btw. If you have any other areas you'd like to see improved, please let me know.

Its funny because I still type in mk5.org to get here. Even though its not there, at least there's a link bringing me here.
Thanks it's fixed now. Love it!

~Crow~ put a lot of effort into MK Online with the best of intentions. What ever you might think of specific decisions, he did a lot of good in an often times thankless role.
Now that the new site build is live and developing, it's time to put this thread to rest. Thanks for your concern.
