Anybody else find it coincidental that not more than a month after reports of Batista being unhappy, he wins the title. Sounded like a shitty ppv. It even sounds like they managed to botch a Honkey Tonk Man return....HOW! Two headlocks and Phoenix trips him to end the match......ugh.

According to Dave Meltzer. They're gonna be doing a 70's style with less ridiculous moves, shorter shows, clearer heel/face dynamics, etc.
I hope this ain't true this is the last thing I want to happen to ROH.
Caring more about character development I can understand and is needed and more clear heels and faces is perfectly find but all thoes other changes are what I def don't want to happen.
Wrestling has changed so much since the 70's lookin back most wrestling fans will find it boring.

I'll gladly watch a ton of 70's stuff before I touch anything in ROH not involving Danielson or foreign talent. If ROH matches were worked more like matches were in the 70's with less over the top bullshit I'd be over the moon about it. But what ROH definitely doesn't need is more clear heel/face distinctions. The concept of heels and faces is outdated and not necessary. People are too smart for that shit now, and ROH has always in the past (well up until about a year or so ago) been more about the wrestling than the characters. I think NOAH basically proves that you don't need heels and faces being good or bad, just interesting personalities interacting with each other in different ways.

Dang I didn't watch it but I guess I saved myself a lot of money by not getting tickets live from Phoenix Arizona (Cheap Mick Foley imitation lol) But Jericho loosing is ridiculous.

I'm glad Batista won the worldheavyweight championship a 4th time. He should have win it since last month. Too bad that Santino lost by disqualification, we don't need him as intercontinental champion. He sucks.

That was EXACTLY what came to mind as soon as I read the report.
It's totally ridiculous, Jericho was as over and dominant a heel he's EVER been. He was getting awesome heat and still look like a tremendous performer.
And Batista had no momentum, this really feels very anti climatic.
Very retarded to end Jericho's title reign so short, especially since CM Punk's didnt last very long either and to me short title reigns always hurt the world title.
I'm pretty sure this was Batista's ego's doing.
What the fuck Dave.
He should be able to realize that what's best for business may not always be what's best for him.
Actually I really believe putting the title on Batista is BAD for him even if he is going to make a bit more money now. Fans were already tired of seeing him always either chasing the belt or holding it. He had a couple of breaks with the Umaga match at Mania and his money match with Cena but damn it's just the same old shit now.
It would've been so much better for everybody if Jericho had retained.
Batista didn't really feel like Jericho's arch nemesis, AT ALL. It should've been either Punk or maybe eventually Cena in his comeback to beat Jericho.
Not fucking Batista. Not at Cyber Sunday with no momentum.
What the fuck...

I agree with just about everything you said but if ROH wants to expand to a wider audiance the more causal fans they prob have to tell who's a heel and a face and make that new person connect with that wrestler on a more emotional bases. The people that come to mind are kids tho and the WWE fans. Personally I don't need for someone to tell me who is a heel and who is a face. I find it awesome when two guys have get in the ring have nothing to do with each other and let their actions in the ring tell the story.
It really all depends on ROH's target group and what they want to achieve.
As a fan (or perhaps former fan) of ROH, I agree with pretty much everything Shibata said. What I loved about ROH originally was it's more realistic style and lack of babyfaces and heels. It was so much more about the sport than anything else, and it really made it unique and impactful to a pure wrestling fan.

Damn Zentile well said. Once again, the same people getting pushed. We're gonna see people like JBL and Randy Orton gunning down for the title. Soon John Cena. And then there's Triple H who will remain champion for another 4542634643 years until another quad rip forces him to hand the title.

Dave Meltzer is retarded, he hardly gets anything he reports right any way, so i wouldn't even pay any attention to it. ole Dave should just stick to writing books, something he actually can do, instead of reporting news!

All I know right now is that ROH should get reall interesting from now on and hope to god that it won't die.
I got my tickets to the ROH PPV in chicago and they have Joe comin back for just one day at the PPV tho it will not be taped for it but still should be awesome also Nigel vs Dragon should be good and Aries and Jacbos should be great to.

Nigel vs Dragon is always awesome.
And what the hell is up with RAW. Now they had Punk and Kofi win the tag titles.... senseless again.
And to elaborate on something said earlier about this, I really don't mind Randy Orton or John Cena chasing the belt as soon as they come back. I think that's the right thing to do considering how big a star Cena is and how well Randy Orton's return is being done.
In fact I'm betting Orton will be the one to beat Batista unless that asshole goes on another ego trip.

Seriously? What bullshit!!!
It's not just bullshit, it's retarded bullshit. Every time they give him a new gimmick and he starts to get over they just act like he's not getting over and toss him aside again.
If he doesn't get released, he'll come back with a brand new gimmick.

Impact today was pretty good the whole angle reminds me of WCW vs NWO and I like that their starting to show more exposure to the undercard guys.
The Mafia theme is awesome.
It was also awesome to see Hiroshi Tanahashi & Volador Jr. on TNA again.
Overall I really liked today's show.

The Casket match does seem watered down now.I think the "Buried Alive" match kinda over shadowed it. And I also saw no point in the 'Taker/Chavo match......

WWE didn't have the money/resources for a casket that would fit Big Show's lard ass???
