Wow I would have never thought in a million years Edge would be the WWE Champion leaving NYR. But all is well, they desparately had to do something about Cena, either turning him heel or making him lose the title. I just hope Cena doesn't regain it on Raw or at the Royal Rumble or chase the title until Wrestlemania. And I always thought Edge would make a great champion. He can be in a main even match, he knows how to get alot of heat, and has great mic skills and can be pretty damn funny. I'm glad he became champion. Its interesting to see what will happen at this years Wrestlemania with Cena vs HHH rumored to be the title match.

Oh and BTW it seems as if Batista tore his tricep once again at a house show. So we'll se what happens with that as well.

Anyway, Edge will probably lose the title at Royal Rumble (it better not happen on RAW)... the planned main event for Wrestlemania was Cena vs. Triple H, but that could have changed now. Removing the title from Cena for 1 month (or less) won't change the fact people just don't like him as a face anymore. He needs to turn heel, and if he does that Triple H cannot be his opponent due to the fact he's a heel as well. It could possibly end up as a triple threat match, though a face will be needed. For that to happen, a heel will have to turn face... as RAW's main face, HBK, isn't likely to be involved with the title match due to his Vince fued.

Edge: Possibly could work as a face. However, people will still probably call Lita a "slut". Edge himself has the right charisma to get over as a face though, especially since he beat Cena.

Kurt Angle: Maybe... but it wouldn't be likely because of his recent heel push. I'd love to see "Goofy Kurt" back though. In my opinion, Angle was one of the best face's ever. Really funny when he's allowed to be.

Man, am I glad I didn't get NYR!! I read the results last night, and all I can say is what a shit ppv!!

Couldn't have seen the ending coming though! Maybe Vinnie Mac had it up his sleeve all along, the "don't take shit from nobody" so he puts Cena in a impromtu title match, against Edge of all people, who so happens to have lost his shot at the IC title, and just so happens to decide to "cash in" his "money in the bank" breifcase (about fucking time, he's had that stupid briefcase far to lon), and wins the title. WTF? is all I thought after reading it. And wow, that spells ratings! Sure nobody but myself liked Cena, but at least he's more entertaining than Edge. And it seems to me that Vince is up to his "screw job" ways again! Oh well, I give Edge....um...2 months at most, maybe more, but I doubt he makes it to Mania, someone will beat him before than.

Cena is more entertaining than Edge? This is obviously a matter of opinion and taste, but I just find it quite hard to put Cena in the same league as Edge, even harder to think of him as being more entertaining than Mr. Former Money in the Bank.

People who claim Cena was carrying RAW are nuts... the guy is the super face character and he gets booed worse than Triple H. That's not carrying, that's taking it to the toilet. Granted, it isn't Cena's fault as much as it is the writers', but Cena's character cannot carry a show. It's a proven fact now... 80-90% of the NYR crowd jeered Cena and cheered anyone that wasn't him in that match. They roared when Edge won.

this is also true, his gimmick is horrible, all in ring abilities aside... the whole being able to predict the match with the same moves every week didn't start with cena, so anyone blaming him for that is wrong. its his gimmick, its horrible, and this is coming from a talented ( and successful ) MC. he's got some decent skills on the mic, and thats what saves, or i should say saved him.. he doesnt do anything like what got him big anymore, its all standard skits that anyone could do, and he doesnt do them well... not very believable, again, not his fault.. a person his gimmick should be doing drive bys and rolling up to the ring with 50 people.

Isn't psychology a powerfull science? I give WWE a lot of shit, but they did a pretty good job of saving face with Cena, so props to that. Hopefully it will last and cena will throw down some new moves - because he's more than capable of it.

HBK/Angle vs. Carlito/Masters was really the only decent match. Yeah, nipples are cool, but that's why I just downloaded an asian lesbo vid, so meh.

I'm starting to form the conclusion that Cena can be a face as long as he isn't the WWE champion. Then again, crowds differ from place to place. I think we should all wait and see the reaction Cena gets leading up to the Royal Rumble. The beginning of the show showed a mixed crowd reaction, somewhere near 50/50, but by the end of the show Cena was favoured (then again, he came to save Flair... and who is going to boo at Flair?). This is less than 24 hours after Cena was booed by virtually everyone in the arena and Edge had an "Edge!" chant going.

I still don't have a good feeling about Cena because it doesn't seem he's going to change his gimmick at all. Once he gets the title back, I have a bad feeling the similar feelings will set in once again. Only time will tell.

I don't think there is a problem with Cena's gimmick. I think it's more of a performance issue. Before becoming champ he would get on the mic and let loose with a funny rap which most people loved because more often then not it was pretty funny crap. Also his matches consisted of more then 3 moves followed by his finisher.

A lot of wrestlers with limited movesets are popular. Take say... Hulk Hogan for example. Regardless, the moves are an issue simply because Cena does the same thing every match. The reason I mention the gimmick is because they are force feeding to us that he's the next Stone Cold. He's not. John Cena is John Cena. Before, when he was mostly a heel, he was okay. People laughed at his freestyles but they still chanted that he sucked, good reaction for a heel. He stopped doing that when he was a face, at least regularly.

Cena gimmick breakdown:

-RAW shows build up "impossible odds" against Cena.
-Cena says he doesn't back down (This is where I feel the gimmick has a problem)
-Cena overcomes "odds".

The "I don't back down" thing is where they are trying to force too must SCSA on us. That's just my opinion of course, but if they didn't build up Cena's matches to make it appear he's going to lose it would help a great deal. Once you use that so many times, the reverse effect occurs. We all expect Cena to overcome the odds and that's not what the writers want. With Austin, it just seemed like he really was going to lose and you'd cheer when he was able to win. It's just his personality I suppose.

I just thought a change in his overall gimmick, possibly a nice heel turn would help somewhat.
