Strange things are afoot at MKO...
Don't call it a comeback!!
Actually, I think that's exactly what this is. I don't know much, and I'm not at liberty to say much or even know anything, but I have seen some old familiar faces entering the IRC channel as of late. Something is a-brewin' around these parts, and for proof, look no further than this teaser video released tonight on MKO's YouTube channel:
https://youtu.be/DEEDgU-uYbg
( *** If you are experiencing any loss of hearing, sorry, I should have warned ya! *** )
The video doesn't reveal much other than the fact that something new is soon coming to Mortal Kombat Online. Has the dormant, indestructible Dragon King army been awakened from their slumber to rightfully send us all to the Netherrealm?
Eh, who can tell? One thing that sticks out to me though is the placement of Kombat Kodes at the end of the video. Surely they must have a purpose. Maybe they're even a clue?
Well, without naming any names here, I will say that someone involved in the making of this video has confirmed to me the kodes "are definitely hinting at something" and "if you really look into it, you may figure it out". Interesting....
I tried my hand at kracking the kode myself, but my efforts have been unsuccessful, unless it's hinting at a launch date of 2026 (hahaha, although I can't yet rule that out).
I've gone ahead and taken screenshots of these Kombat Kodes and even took the liberty of uploading them myself. THANKS, MICK!
Also, as you can tell, I'm using these MK Emoticons way too much in this post, but nevermind that! Here are the codes, presented in the same order that they are shown in the video.
KOMBAT KODE 1:
KOMBAT KODE 2:
KOMBAT KODE 3:
Then, using this handy guide found on mortalkombat.wikia.com, we can begin to assign numbers to these kodes:
I should note that these kodes are from Mortal Kombat (2011), AKA MK9. If we assign numbers to the pictures, the kode appears as:
913-202-609
Now, in the actual Mortal Kombat games, the Kombat Kodes are 6 numbers (or 2 sets of 3), but here we have 9 numbers. I've looked at the Kombat Kodes used in the games, and none of these match-up. What could they possibly be hinting at?
If we try to break it down as a date and time, we get 9/13/2026 with 09 which could translate to 09:00, meaning 9 AM. All jokes aside, a 2026 launch date can't be right. Even a 9/13/20 launch date seems implausible, and if so that would leave us with 26:09 as the time, and that doesn't even make sense. Considering the 9 digits nearly resemble a phone number, I considered looking up the area code 913 which took me to Kansas. My apologies, Toto, but that doesn't seem to be the answer either.
Seeing as this is Mortal Kombat and we see a fair amount of reverse spelling (e.g. Boon = Noob), I tried reversing it, which turned it into 906-202-319. If we're looking for a date here, that doesn't fare much better. I must be taking a wrong approach.
So what do you guys think? Got any ideas? Am I overlooking something obvious? Has the MKO staff inadvertently sent us on a wild goose chase while none of these numbers actually mean anything? I certainly hope not. Any of you want to have a krack at it? Go ahead! Let's krack this kode!
- Love, BMK.

I tried that. None caught my eye. Tried changing the numbers to letters, nothing came of it. I don’t know...admittedly I’m not great at this sort of thing, but if anything big is about to come of this place, it’d be awesome.

Yeah, Shinnokxz, I had tried. There's a couple that are close to the codes, but no exact matches. Plus it's odd that it's 9 numbers instead of 6.
Hey Detox. Man, you beat me to it! I just came back here because I got the idea of trying to change the numbers to letters. Too bad that didn't solve anything either. That would have been a great idea for a teaser message!
