So Hey all. I figured I might as well start a new versus type thread. This is going to be similar to Subman's threads, I'll give you two characters you tell me who comes out on top in a strait out brawl. I'll be trying to do this the first of each month. So without any further ado Let's get to our first match. Welcome to Fictional Fight Club.

Our first match-up is between two of fiction's most famous super soldiers.

In the Red Corner we have MASTER CHIEF from the Halo series of video games.

All that is known about Chief is that he was a six year old named John before being taken by the UNSC to be trained as a soldier. From childhood Master Chief has trained in armed and unarmed combat and battlefield tactics. He has also been given hormonal injections that have given him super strength and stamina. As well as the highly advanced mjolnir battle armor whose shielded exterior can block bullets.

His challenger in the Blue Corner is the most patriotic superhero alive CAPTAIN AMERICA.

Steve Rogers was a wimpy little kid who couldn't even lift his own shoes let alone a rifle. But that didn't stop him from trying to sign up for the army in WWII. After being rejected numerous times Steve was asked to take part in the super soldier project designed to turn any man into a fighting machine. The experiment worked and Steve became Captain America, he led countless raids on Nazi bases in WWII and now in modern day he uses his powers to take on the world's most dangerous super villains.

THE BREAKDOWN

Master Chief

POWERS & ABILITIES
-Super Strength
-Enhanced Speed and Endurance
-Expert in armed and unarmed combat

WEAPONS & EQUIPMENT
-1 assault rifle
-1 pistol
-2 Frag grenades
-2 Plasma grenades
-Mjolnir battle armor, capable of blocking bullets in small bursts.

ADVANTAGES
-Range. If Chief can keep Cap at a distance then it will be hard for Chief to lose.

Captain America

POWERS & ABILITIES
-Enhanced Speed, strength, and endurance
-Expert in armed and unarmed combat

WEAPONS & EQUIPMENT
-A vibranium shield. Nearly indestructible this thing can block bullets, bombs, and anything else you can imagine. It can also be thrown as a weapon which will ricochet off of walls and enemies. It nearly always returns to its thrower.

ADVANTAGES
-The shield. Do not underestimate Cap's shield. It can block anything. Not to mention it can be used to add some umph to his punches. He was able to crack Iron Man's armor with it, its easily possible for him to crack Master Chief's as well.

THE SCENARIO
The two will start at the opposite ends of a Blood Gulch type canyon. The canyon is narrow and filled with rocks and boulders that can be used for cover.

So after all that who do you think wins?

Cap, no contest. Chief needs all those weapons. Cap could take down anything Chief has with just his shield.

Good thread Mchotcakes. Glad someone decided to start up a vs. thread.

I have to say Captain America. Cap could easily do filps over Chief and just backhand him with the shield.

This is actually a better match up than people realize. Since the Halo franchise is primarily FPS, the players don't know of Chief's combat prowess unless they read the books. When he was just a child, Chief was able to kill 4 ODST units by himself.

If Chief can somehow get Cap's shield away from him, I'd say Chief, simply due to superior strength and equal speed and reflexes. If not, then I'd give it to Cap, because that shield is nasty.

I still say no contest. Cap wrecks shit way worse than Chief struggles with in his games. Cap is almost certain to be a better hand-to-hand fighter. I don't think Chief has the precision to throw a shield, have it ricochet off 3-4 objects and return to him.

Cap is more likely to disarm Chief and use his guns than Chief is likely to get his shield.

#1 rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club. Thread closed.
Only joking. I really haven't delved into Cpt. America as mighty he might be, while I have delved into M.C., knowing that he saved the universe for now:
Plasma Pistol + Battle Rifle = VictoryNote: When hit successfully. With this solid proof I will say Master Chief.

Both of those are like airsoft guns to Cap's vibranium shield.

Yes, but John knows where to aim. wink
On a serious note: the chances are endless, for each character in fact, but not even the Vibranium shield is indestructible now that I just read about it. Captain America could for instance be sleeping or in a coma while Master Chief would shoot him. The same could go the other way round too, even if M.C. hardly sleeps as far as I'm concerned. Ultimately these kinds of things are about opinions, even though it's nice to argue a little too.

That's ODIN'S brother dude. Someone that could kill Master Chief with a flick of his finger! He obliterated an entire city by slamming his hammer into the ground! And after that incident, Cap's shield was repaired in Asgard, making it even stronger!

Nothing in Master Chief's arsenal could even scratch Cap's shield.

The Halo rings should destroy anything. But I just brought that up. Master Chief's attempt isn't destroying the shield anyway but the carrier, as far as I'm concerned. I don't know how he utilizes it precisely, but as long as it doesn't shield Cpt. America, he is vulnerable to hits – and M.C. can strike.

Well, considering the amount of ace marksmen in the Marvel Universe, I'd say hitting Cap with any projectile would be incredibly difficult. Cap's had to deal with characters who never miss or have powers that make it literally impossible to miss... I'd say that Chief's got nothing to surprise Cap with.

Marvel is just on a bigger scale than Halo is. Cap is considered one of the best hand to hand combatants in the Marvel Universe. When you've got guys like Wolverine and Iron Fist in there... well... you better bring more than guns to that fist fight.

Captain America woke up accidentally from the middle of Sahara. Master Chief had set 10,004 landmines around him and wherever he'd go, there's always a mine in a radius of max. 70 centimeters. Amerigo set his shield on one landmine to shield himself but then it triggered 38 other mines, exploding him apart. M.C. also shot him twice with his Spartan Laser.
Realistically, fictionally, Captain America would possibly win, except if Master Chief's only objection would be to destroy Cpt. America without caring about his own life: he could tell Cortana to trigger the Halos if he were lucky enough. A slim chance could spare his life however, when M.C. would teleport to The Ark (Halo-proof) just before the blast, winning.

What was that first piece of literature? You just write that? lol

I don't think nuke the galaxy and hope you can teleport away would be considered a victory. I thought the point of this was a 1 on 1 battle, not call for assist and run. I mean, Cap could do that too.

Yes. If we're talking about assists here, then Guilty Spark 343 could also help Master Chief with a legion of flying Sentinel robots that would beam Cpt. America from all directions in the same time killing him in 0.036 seconds approximately. I haven't read Halo books but the seven Halo rings were once activated and they killed all sentient life throughout the universe ('cept the ones inside The Ark) sparing no creature whatsoever.
The buildings essentially stayed the same as well as the non-organic robots. There was also this Installation 00 (the Halos are Installations 1–7) called The Ark that can be closed to an egg shape and when closed; it spares all life inside it during the Halo blast. So the Halo blast differs.
Yes, teleportation is the salvation (response to a now-deleted part). A time machine couldn't harm one either. Now that I think of it, Master Chief could technically activate the Halo rings by himself too, even if Cortana is already kind of a software part of him. The activation could take hours though.

Cortana would be considered an assist.

There's a paradox, though. In Marvel, there are characters that would be unaffected by things like that. I mean, you've got characters like The Hulk, The Sentry, Phoenix and Galactus that could just destroy anything that was man made, let alone survive it. So why couldn't Cap get the Hulk or the Sentry to wipe that out. Or wouldn't Galactus take it out on his own, knowing it's destructive force?

But there's really no reason to go into that... the point of the thread was to have these guys go at it one on one with both characters arsenals already determined. Chief just doesn't bring anything new to the table that Cap hasn't already dealt with. High tech alien weaponry is just a walk int he park for Cap... he was dealin' with that shit in the 40's.

The scenario could take place in New Mombasa, where you can activate the Halos. The Halos are made by Forerunners, not men, even though they are similar to humans. In Halo 2 a Brute called Tartarus initiated the Halo process by making Amanda Keyes to activate them in Africa but the preparation took forever, like hours, and Master Chief was able to pull that back. It could be due to the fact that Delta Halo was exploded in the first Halo and the pieces were merely glued together by Halo 2, so it might have delayed that. Only people would be able to activate the Halos, suggesting that the Forerunners were related to humans. Master Chief is an enhanced human and called Spartan/John 117, Reclaimer & Demon.

He already stated where it takes place.

Anyway, we've both made our arguments, lol. We're just gonna end up going into an infinite tangent about which universe this takes place in and all the variables that go with it. I mean, Captain America can wield Mjilonir, so one heave of that fucker would end Chief for good. No avoiding that thing, gotta be able to take the hit.

He did but in theory that could situate in Africa.
Master Chief could also wield a Vibranium shield with an Energy Sword but that wouldn't be characteristic to him (the backstories of him don't mention it). But it indeed is possible that Cpt. America is able to win as it is also possible that M.C. can win. Ultimately, it's about one's opinion.

They're both Supersoldiers in their own respective universe so they're on equal physical terms. Cap has his shield, Chief has his marine arsenal. Therefore, I'd give Chief the edge. Also you realize that Master Chief's suit, the Mjolnir body armor, can't even be WORN by a normal human without killing them outright. So take Cap's bad ass shield and turn it into a suit of armor. That's what Chief brings to the table WITHOUT any of his weapons.

Just to throw in my 2 cents I'd say if Cap didn't have his shield and Chief didn't have his armor or weapons the two would be equal in terms of abilities and fighting skills.

I picked these two because they essentially have all the same powers, they just have different equipment.
