Well, i've been recently researching about eye color and all the genetics involved, and i found some particular interesting info:
It is widely known that brown is the most common eye color in the world (half of the world population has brown eyes), and while the blue eye gene is the most recessive one, it is the second most common color in the world.
Then there are the brown variations, like hazel, golden, dark brown and almost black, and the blue variations wich may vary to the extent of gray.
And finally, there is green. The green eye color is the rarest color in the world. Only 1 - 2 % of the world's population has got green eyes.
The green eye gene appeared as a mutation of the blue eye gene (probably a hybrid between blue and light brown or something like that).
I found this "green being the rarest eye color" fact really interesting, as i am a green eyed person, when i think of it, other than myself, i have only seen 2 other people with natural green eyes in my entire life.
I've got to say that i love being green eyed, as it seems more unique than blue, and overall i prefer the green color over blue. When i read about this, i felt all special, lol.
So, what is your eye color and wich one is your favorite?
(forgive any mistakes in this post, as i'm no pro in these matters)

I have really old boring dark brown eyes.
I have always liked people with blue eyes, but if it were possible i'd love to have red eyes. Hmmm, I guess I could get contacts.

My eyes are really green. I wish i could post a photo right now, but it happens that i'm not using my computer as of this moment, but when i get home i'll be sure to do so.
Mine are emerald like light green, and around the pupil i've got some light gold traces.

Mine are bluish-green. My mother had the most amazing Yellow-Green eyes I've ever seen though.
Anna Torv, an Australian actress on the show "Fringe" has some pretty amazing eyes, too. Like emerald green. Very cool.
As for what I like on other people, I love light brown eyes. I don't really know why.

Dark Blue with Yellow near the center.
When we were in biology in high school, we were taught that there are two colors;
Brown (Honey, Chestnut, True Brown, Hazel, Black)
Blue (Grey, Light Blue, Deep Blue, Blue-Green, Green)
Blue eyes are recessive, so if one parent has brown eyes, you have very small chances of having blue eyes.
Blue and green are the same gene, so two parents with green eyes may have blue-eyed children, and two parents with blue eyes may have green-eyed kids.
My Father - Green with Orange near the center
My Mother - Light Blue
My Older Bro - Light Blue
Myself - Dark Blue with Yellow near the center
So I think I got Yellow near the center because of my father. That would make sense.

The most beautiful girl I've ever seen had green eyes and red hair, so I guess green is my fave.
Me? I'm a boring blue-gray. Isn't it true that gray is just blue eyed people's eyes losing their colour as they get older? Children's eyes tend to have a more vivid colour.

It is a myth that weather or aging affects eye color. Newborn babies all have deep blue eyes though.

I have brown eyes.
As for my favorite color....well, actually, color doesn't matter much to me. It's moreso eye shape and intensity of the gaze.

I have really slate blue eyes, with a really visible ring of yellow around my pupils.

I have beautiful brown eyes. I kind wish I had heterochromia iridium (dual eye colors). It looks bad ass.

I have green eyes! They say that having green eyes is very rare. That is true Nightcrow. I was researching this too.

I've got blue eyes, with a lighter blue/grey center.
There was an article on AOL a few months ago about the geneology of blue eyes, and they say that it it can be traced back 1 link. Since the blue eye gene/dna is absent from people with brown eyes.
Not exactly sure but I thought the article also stated that green eyes where a result of a genetic defect with brown eyes (or more specifically inbreeding, or thats what was implied ).
