I remember getting this at toys-r-us when I was a kid for no more then 10$ for my genesis, never understood why it wasn't more widely appreciated.

It had a pretty cool story, it had really awesome characters, and the stage fatalities and such where great, although I remember the boss sucking.
I never played the other ones, but I wished their be some new ones comming out soon.

Do you or anyone else remember EC for sega CD. The cine Kills? This game's finishing moves were harder than fucking primal rage.

G4TV's Electric Play actually listed this game as one of the top five fighting games of all time. The video = gay because it's a series of fatalities.

I agree, it was garbage compared to MK overall.MK stood out more because of the realistic digitized graphics and better gameplay, Eternal Champions was too cartoony and looked so fake to me.I remember it, it had nothing on MK or SF. The fatalties also looked really fake and cartoony imo.MK was worse overall.

Another thing, the death traps are MUCH cooler in Deception by far.Not even graphically or anything just the concept of the DT's compared to ET.

Come on man. Nobody is comparing it to 2d MK's, let alone 3d MK's.
It was a great game, the Overkills (death traps) were hard to pull off, but they kicked ass.

Yeah, I know comparing Deceptions DT's to ET is not fair you're right as far as time and all I just disagree with the title.
I just feel that MK looked more serious and all.

Actually for the time they were made in compared to MK, I must admit that EC were much more realistic, and gorier looking to.
Some of the stuff is downright painful to watch lol. And the lack of two skulls and ten femurs is a nice touch.

I don't know, looked kind of fake to me man lol.The only one that looked good IMO was the one that was their versions of the pit with the blades cutting up the guy like 4 times before just a skull.MK caused more controversy for a reason though, EC didn't.

Well, Mk came first, so it had already been done before so it was bound not to stir things up as much. I liked the DT better then the fatality video, and I'll agree that the characters don't look as realistic, but thats cause MK used captions of real actors, while these were just drawings, but the deaths just seemed slower and more painful in my opinion, and overall grosser.
They were in Mk's huge shadow, and thats probably why they didn't get as much recognition for what they were doing.
My faves were Trident,Xavier,Slash, and the kickboxing guy.

Yeah, I know that's the thing that really made MK stick out.The fact that they used real actors, SF:The movie attempted it later on seeking the same success but failed miserably.

I see EC awesome for a Rated R cartoon though.

my thought on it is that, for its time period that would be consider very gorier and more realistic looking then MK fatalities at the time. i mean ET showed skin getting peeled off and flesh and organs in vivid detail.

but yes when it comes to gamplay and orignality MK kills ET. i was just bringing up the difference in gore that ET IMO did better then MK at the time.

It looked better then MK...MK tended to have way to many bones... I don't know any human that has 3 rib cages and four legs and arms. In MKT it was even worse... they wanted even more "gore" so they doubled the amount to four rib cages and 8 legs and 8 arms...it just looked retarded. The EC fatalities just looked much better and more realistic.

Not in MK 2 though man, MK 2 looked much better then ET ever did if you look closely.It looks like a drawing of a skeleton with a ridiculous amount of blood=looks fake lol.
MK was darker, more realistic and looked better overall.Beside, ET didn't surpass MK because MK was the main reason for ESRB system.

God would you stop fucking comparing everything to MK? I swear if someone made a Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air thread you would say it fails in comparison to MK. MK was more mainstream that's all.

EC made me hate the over-the-top kills in games alongside with MK. However it had those nifty real kills which I adored. It wasn't very well balanced too as I recall, and the exceptionally dumb and cliche kills
have made this a complete waste of time of my old -and last- console.

Christ, the only 2 things I ever inadvertedly pulled off in this game was the dinosaur one and the burning stake one.

The title has MK mentioned besides EC just in case you didn't notice.

I don't like the cartoon look it has. Who cares if it out gored MK. MK was basically real people getting mutilated, which imo is much more satisfying.

On a positive note, like said above, some of the fatalities/level fatalities actually made sence. I wouldn't mind trying it, at least once.
