This is my oppinion of weaponry per character:
Scorpion - Mugai Ryu: The only official ninja, the Mugai Ryu suits him! BUT I do believe ninjas had curved swords, though still smaller than normal katanas. Why the straight blade?
Sub-Zero - Kori Blade: Though the Ice Mace from MK4 and in MKA Konquest mode was cool, it was also very cheap, freezing the opponent in a hit. So the Kori Blade is definately an improvement! And I like the idea of it being made by Subbie's ice powers.
Reptile - Kirehashi: I think it is perfect for him. Nothing to complain about.
Rain - Storm Sword: Another sword? Why all these swords? And if it HAS to be a sword, then why one so plain? I would have loved to see Rain with a double bladed sword, y'know, one with a blade on both sides of the handle.
Ermac - Axe: Finally, a "ninja" character not having a sword. I like his axe because it defines Ermac's brutal side, showing he's not totally a mystic.
Chameleon - Drake Sword: Bah, I hate it. It's just another sword. He should have gotten a more original weapon, I'm not sure what though. But definately not a sword.
Noob - Troll Hammer: What the h*** is THAT??? Noob is supposed to be a shadow ninja who wants to become the ultimate Lord of the Netherrealm, and then he gets a stone on a stick for a weapon? The scythe would have been MUCH better.
Smoke: He doesn't have a weapon which I find very very very weak! Instead of getting a second fighting style he should get a cool weapon. I was thinking about getting him a flail. Dunno why, it just comes to mind...
Cyrax - Pulse Blade: Well, though its a sword, one of the cyborgs should have a pulse blade. So this is not a bad weapon to Cyrax, though it would be awesome for him to have the razorblade as a weapon style and give him his net back.
Sektor - Pulse Blades: Hmm, though Sektor uses them well I don't think its cool to have both cyborgs wielding pulse blades. But if Cyrax got his razorblade as a weapon, then Sektor should keep the pulse blades.
Stryker - Night Sticks: I have always liked Stryker, as one of the few, because he had a tonfa, or a night stick as it is called in the game. He should definately keep them, though Jax kinda stole it from him.
Kabal - Hook Swords: Kabal shall NEVER lose his hook swords!
Dairou - Autumn Dao: Since Dairou is a chinese looking character it is great to see him having a chinese blade, and the autumn dao is not a bad choice. But since he is an assassin he should maybe have something more fitting, like a kusarigama, a kama with a chain and a weight attached. I could see it happening!
Jarek - Kick Axe: He should have gotten the club instead of Kai. Jarek is brutal and mercyless, so give him the spiked club so he can smash his opponents into recognition.
Darrius - Gauntlets: If Darrius lost his gauntlets, then I would like for him to have the nunchaku instead of Liu Kang. Maybe with some blades on the tips to make it deadlier!
Reiko - Crude Hammer: The crude hammer is perfect for Reiko. Though I don't like him to be a Shao Kahn wannabe, I do like his style. He is like Shao Kahn in so many ways, personality wise, so the crude hammer is a good weapon for him.
Fujin - Devastator: NO! He lost his crossbow, I can't believe it... And then what did they give him... A SWORD!!! OK, I admit the crossbow wouldn't have worked in MKA, and he shouldn't get a staff like Raiden's, but why a sword??? *weep*
Bo'Rai Cho - Jujutsu: I like his little cane, though he doesn't really need it. From someone his size he is rather agile.
Mavado - Hook Swords: Oh this is low... So very low! There's no difference between his and Kabal's hook swords. There should at least be SOME difference. Mavado should use his hooks on his ropes instead, just making them a tad bigger.
Hotaru - Naginata: Nothing to complain about here.
Nightwolf - Tomahawks: Not here either.
Mokap: Another one with no weapon... Hmm, it could be fun if he was a random weapon fighter, having a new weapon style every round or so. And then the weapons should look like the ones they used for motion captures, like previously posted.
Johnny Cage - Bowie Knife: Then I liked him having the nunchuks better... Cage just doesn't seem like the blade kind of fighter.
Kano - Butterfly: He should have the one from the movie... It was so perfect for him. Maybe giving him Kira's knives and then give her something else.
Jax - Tonfas: He stole them from Stryker and now both of them have tonfas. Jax should have somekind of weapon coming out of his cyborg arms.
Kai - Club: Do you remember the Battle Axe from MK4? I think that would fit Kai better than a club... Hey, Kitana's steel fans would fit him better... OK, maybe not, but I do not like the club!!! I liked the monkey spade idea better from the concept art!
Kenshi - Katana: It is Kenshi's trademark weapon, so he should keep it.
Shujinko - Dantien Dao: He should have two of them like in his MKD fatalities. Or else its just anouther sword...
Hsu Hao - Sun-Moon: I like the sun-moon, its so different from the rest of the weaponry in MK!
Kobra - Machete: I don't know what to think about this... Kobra is like Cage in that matter he isn't a blade-type of fighter. But I don't know what he should have instead.
Taven - Dragon Sword: I like it, though it is a sword. But its a two-hander which makes Taven look more powerful!
Liu Kang - Nunchaku: He should use his chained hooks instead of a nunchaku. I know he is a Bruce Lee character, but in his MKA look it doesn't suit him having a nunchaku.
Kung Lao - Broadsword: Again a sword. But it suits Kung Lao having a broadsword, so it is OK!
Shang Tsung - Straight Sword: More swords...
Quan Chi - Brad Swords: And even more swords...
Shinnok - Amulet Staff: This is a funny weapon to give Shinnok, but it suits him so well. Though many characters have swords, there are also many with staves, so it is not an original weapon.
Raiden - Staff: Well, though its plain and boring, it suits him well. It IS his lightning staff which he has carried since MK1!
Daegon - Dragonswords: Hmm, though it fits the MKA storyline that he holds both swords, he looks too much like Quan Chi.
Sonya - Kali Sticks: Well, I personally think Sonya would be awesome with the tonfas instead of the kali sticks, but they do good.
Kitana - Steel Fans: Her trademark weapons which she should never lose!
Mileena - Sais: Like Kitana. I was shocked to see them both having other weapons than these in MKG! I hope they never do that ever again!
Jade - Bojutsu: Jade should definately keep her staff, but it looks really weird. Where's that kinetic staff with the purple glow?
Ashrah - Kriss: Perfect!
Li Mei - Kunlun Dao: YES it IS another sword, but it fits her. Either that or she should steal Sindel's Kwan Do.
Tanya - Kobo Jutsu: I love these! Though they ressemble tonfas, she should definately keep these! Thank god she didn't keep the boomerang from MK4.
Frost - Daggers: They are perfect for Frost. Nothing to complain about here.
Sindel - Kwan Do: I have never liked the Kwan Do for Sindel. It ressembles Jade's style too much. I have always though a whip would suit Sindel, or maybe a Snake Sword like Ivy's from Soul Calibur.
Nitara - Kama: Ohh, she stole those from Sareena. I have always thought Nitara would look cool with a scythe instead.
Kira - Dragonteeth: Although Kano would look better with them, they have grown on her and almost become her trademark weapons.
Sareena - Demon Fang: Nitara stole her Kamas, so she stole Mileena's sais from Li Mei. Now Mileena has the sais again, so what does she get... a sword... .sigh. She should have kept the kamas.
Sheeva - Shokan Baldes: All the Shokans have four arms and so much potential to wield some evil weapons... But Sheeva has these tiny knives instead. Bummer.
Baraka - Blades: Perfect!
Motaro: He should wield an enourmous axe or flail or something, like a real minotaur which he has become instead of the mighty centaur race...
Havik - Moonstar: Its brutal, its perfect.
Drahmin - Iron Club: Again, perfect.
Moloch: Where is his big iron ball??? It was so cool!!!
Meat - Cleavers: I like the cleavers for Meat! I think its great he is back and has some storyline and he is too a good character!
Shao Kahn - Wrath Hammer: It looks boring, but it is a perfect weapon for him!
Goro - Dragon Fangs: As I said about Sheeva, the dragon fangs are just too small for Goro to have!
Kintaro - Saber Teeth: They are too small, but if they were longer it would fit him perfectly!
Onaga: Hmm, a great two-handed sword held in one hand would make Onaga the ultimate boss character instead of that cheap dragon style...
Blaze: Well, if Blaze should have a weapon it should be on fire. More I don't know...
