UK magazine PocketGamer has released word that Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 will be released for Java-enabled mobile phones.
it's apparent that a scoring system – not used since the original Mortal Kombat I – will be making its return. Check out the screenshots:
The developer is listed as Electronic Arts Mobile and not Warner Bros. The article mentions that the release date is (approximately) December 1, 2010 and that they will be posting their review of the game shortly. No word as of yet whether this confirms a release in North America, or whether this port will include Puzzle Kombat (as the Nintendo DS port did) or any other extras.

Ya know, when I first bought that game for my Sega Saturn way back in the day, I don't think I ever even considered the possibility that some day I might be able to play that game on a phone lol.
Sorry, I don't mean to sit here and marvel at how awesome technology is, but the idea of being able to take that game anywhere just sounds cool, especially when you consider where games (and phones) where when UMK3 first came out.
Oh, and on a side note, somewhere, Cyrax is shrugging his shoulders at that article and saying "eh? WTF did I do?" lol

You know it won't be as good as the arcade or console versions.....partly because like 13 characters are missing.

The article confirms 7 characters, and the screenshots show 6:
- Cyrax
- Kitana
- Scorpion
- Shao Kahn
- Sonya
- Sub-Zero (unmasked)
So, wonder who the final character will be? Seems like, so far, they have been avoiding palette-swaps.

I didn't realize they still made games like this. It's nice, I guess.
That's probably just them trying to deal with the limited capabilities of the platform. I don't see how there's any connection to that collection at all...
"The developer is listed as Electronic Arts Mobile and not Warner Bros.". Straight from the article.
What.

Do you guys notice the new little "animation" details on these pictures? The most obvious one being the bones in Scorpion's Fatality.
Makes you wonder about the rumors regarding the HD MK Collection again.

all im saying is that i think it is A HINT that mk hd might be real because they are releasing mk3 on this phone. so maybe they have other projects for mk3 they are working on too. which would be mk hd. im not saying that this confirms mk hd.
