I always thought of purple as the darker violet shades... like Donatello from TMNT...
Neither pink nor purple are really one of the basic 6 colors of the simple spectrum... and the colors pretty much overlap... a lot of pinks are light purples... and depending what spot in mileena's costume (light or dark) u choose it varies really...

this is why I think she is PINK:
in Deception she is definetly pink...
She is ment to be the opposite of Kitana.. who is blue... the oppoite of blue is often considered pink
And when seen in context of the backgrounds and other characters, she looks pink... cause everything is so dark so in ur mind u assume the color is a couple shades lighter

It's purple, the colour fits the character. She is suposed to be a dark and evil female, and if her costume was pink... lets face it, pink isn't that colour that you associate with evil... and this doubt about purple or pink, lets just say that in the pics where it looks pink, that is because of the light effects, or ambiental lightning. the original is purple to me

Pink Violet

She's purple in MK2, UMK3, MKT and MK Gold.

She's pink in MKD and MKA.

Its hard to tell what color Mileena has on from the MK:D pics. It's pink.

Magenta

I preferred when she was purple, but since they gave purple to Li Mei and Sindel they most likely decided that pink was Mileena's new color scheme.

Purple is a regal colour. It makes sense for Kitana to have it (ie; her alternate outfit), along with the other Edenians.

Baraka has pink flesh. HE'S evil.

It's not a great logic.
Yellow isn't exactly a spooky hell kinda colour for Scorpion.
Kano in white, or brown jackets isn't exactly sinister.
Shao Kahn and his total lack of pants... Not very emperial or intimidating...

I can help solve this major dilemma.

MK2: Purple

Its very clear her color is purple. She is featured mostly as bright purple in this game, but you can also see her wearing a dark purple outfit, like her primary look in MKU.



MKU: Purple

Here you can still notice she is purple, its very obvious, and this time it looks a lot more darker then her original outfit in MK2. But there are some alternate pictures that have her in a brighter purple, much like her MK2 look, still clearly purple.



MKG: Purple

Mileena still looks very purple here. Her color doesn’t seem as dark as MKU, but she is still darker then her MK2 look.



MKD/A: PINK!

Now here starts the dilemma. She is definitely not as purple as her past appearances, and the color isn’t really that close to being dark lilac. The color is most definitely pink.

You can tell the difference the most by looking at her ending. The first picture of her MKD ending has her giving Li Mei and Bo Rai Cho orders, look at Li Mei, that’s how Mileenas purple used to look in past games, but now she has gone pink.







MKA Movie: PINK.....or dark lilac?

Just for fun, look at Mileena here, her costume is almost pinker then it is purple or dark violet.





Actually, pink is a very awesome color you can associate evil with. Its like a metaphor.

Just picture it, a character who is everything but sweet and nice, wearing pink. Mileena, a deadly assassin, an abomination, a cannibal, an evil tyrant, wearing the most fragile and delicate of all colors. Its all work of symbols. It depends on how you read the situation.

Other very evil and nasty characters have used pink in the past, best example I can give (all Harry Potter fans would know) is: Dolores Umbridge. The disgusting toad-like face evil witch bitch with the size of a little Hobbit that makes everyones life a living hell and still manages to look strangely sexy. Such a hypocrite evil bitch that wears and loves pink, she acts like an innocent flower, like a sweet baby school girl, but she is actually poisoned honey, very evil, very unfair, very very bad.

Both, in some games she's more purple in others a more hot pinkish.

Purple and Pink both suit Mileena nicely. But i dont know what they were smoking when they gave Kitana the purple outfit in MKDA and MKA. Thats just not her color. Blue was perfect for her.

Like others have said, Mileena was Purple, but they gave Purple to Kitana, Li Mei, and Sindel in DA-Armageddon. Thus, they gave Mileena a pinker outfit.

I like Mileena in Purple and Pink. Both are good looks for her. I also think that Purple doesn't fit Kitana well. But I suppose they gave her a purpler outfit since Frost wore Blue in MKDA.
