Why cant Johnny Cage do his groin punch on the female characters?

It's something I've wondered... in the games where Johnny Cage has his infamous groin punch, he could never do it on the females. Now then...

Is it because they were being polite to women? Or were they just afraid of being attacked by feminists? Or is it just because getting hit in the crotch does not hurt a woman? I don't know really.

Then again, in MK:SM VS. Mode if you play as Johnny Cage, you can do the groin punch on Kitana and she reacts just as the men do. Then again this could be either because Kitana is the only playable female character in MK:SM and they couldn't give her an advantage over JC or they just stopped caring...

What do you think? Does anyone know the real answer?

Yes. I think I do, Notice how in MK1 and MK2 johnny can't use his groin punch on women. Although I think that really sucks from my point of view, I believe it is done because it would be outrageously over the top to see a woman being hit like that. That really wanted to avoid extreme contreversy in that instance...

But, didnt Johnny Cage punch woman there in MKGold???? I think he does it in that game, I remember.

It would had looked funny in the past games to see him abuse of woman like that, I think they didnt do it because of the controversy, but now, that is nothing compared to what we see, so I guess thats why they did it in MKSM.

It's funny that he can't do it to himself in MK1 either. But that's just because they didn't have the footage of Pesina taking the hit since you couldn't do mirror matches at first.
Johnny Cage is a playboy/gentlemen, he wouldnt make such a dirty move on a Woman =)

And the move is also known as "Nutcracker" wich make no sense if it would work on Woman too.

It,s a nice detail that it doesnt work, like the "Finish Her" instead of "Finish Him"

Well, it could just work like a normal punch with no stun properties if you did it on a woman. The fact that Johnny can do it on Kitana in MkSm has got me thinking some strange things about her, though...

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!

I just checked and he cant do it in the Mk4 versions neither. So far, its just Kitana.

If you can time the low blow on someone who Morphs into a female ninja like that, you win the round because they stay like that forever, you can set up decent combos after it too with the close range kick.

That is a very interesting glitch then, considering a lot of people are probably going to try morphing into Mileena.

As if MK hasnt gotten enough heat as it is from the gore, That all the ammo parents groups would need to see is seeing a woman getting punched in the lilac. Then Mk wouldve been Banned from the planet. thats just IMO.grin

Apparently so... But honestly back in the day I thought it was a cool touch that Johnny would only do the splits and not the punch when fighting the girls... (or himself for that matter) It was just little details like that, that made me enjoy the original games so much, Now it's just sad to see the decline in effort being put into the games... C'mon Midway, create something that will make love the series again!

Point missed.

Low blow on a woman seems like the sort of random outlandish thing that would cause someone to fly off the handle. Just like how in Primal Rage, a ton of blood could be spilt, you could eat people, but the one thing that really led to it getting pulled from the shelves was one of the guys peeing on his opponent. The farting was fine, and puking in other games was cool, but that peeing was too much.

I have placed no value judgement on what is better or worse and what is and isn't alright. It just seems like the sort of thing that could have set off a momma stampede. I'll never pretend to understand the angry masses. I just try to stay out of the way of them.

No, the point wasn't missed. I was just pointing out that although in moral terms there would be far more controvesy over a girl getting punched in the groin, in terms of actual physical injury; let's just say, I'd much, much rather be female when getting punched in that area. I also think the reason for possible controvesy would be that it just wouldn't be gentlemanly for Johnny to do that to a lady. Even though he does the dirty trick of split punching a guy, I think somehow, just down to culture; punching a guy in the groin is a comedy, whereas punching a girl there is a shocking abomination and tantamount to taking advantage of.
