An aticle found on Daniel Pesina:
Daniel Pesina, born 1959 in Chicago, Illinois, is a martial arts expert, as well as a former employee of Midway. He is most recognized as the actor who played Johnny Cage and ninjas Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, Smoke, and Noob Saibot in Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat II. He was fired from Midway after sporting the Johnny Cage garb from MKII in an ad for the Strata arcade game, Bloodstorm. His younger brother, Carlos Pesina, played Raiden in the 2D Mortal Kombat games.

He is also the master of Chicago Wushu Guan, where he still teaches.

Master Daniel Pesina has been studying the martial arts since 1972. He began his formal training with Master Guo Jianhua in 1989 studying both external and internal Wushu. Master Pesina has also studied under many other Chinese living treasures and instructors including Hu Jianqiang (former Chinese National Champion), Lo Minghan (former Hubei Wushu Team member), and Lin Jianhua, to name just a few.

Really? That's how Pesina got fired? :\ Wow... never knew that... thanks. That ad promoting that Bloodstorm with him as Johnny Cage was definitely fishy and hinting me on the truth of how he got fired by Midway...

Chris Alexander may have looked like a bit cooler, but Dan Pesina was definitely better as regards martial arts. Just look at both MK2's and MKT's Shadow Kicks or roundhouses for instance. Alexander was nowhere near Pesina's performance.

I have a picturre of the advertisement for BloodStorm that got Pesina fired, it has a picture of him dressed up as Johnny Cage playing the arcade, the dude even signed his name to prove that he "switched over" to BloodStorm, I would post the pic, but I don't know how...

Yeah, MKT JC has some of the laziest kicks in MK history. His legs stay so low and sloppy it looks like he'd have trouble getting into an SUV.

I heard that most of the MK2 actors were fired because they threatened a lawsuit over the toys. They were upset that Midway was using their images to make toys. They were all fired, and that's also the reason their names are missing from the 90s-era home versions.
Bloodstormraynewhatever came after they'd all been let go.

Strange...Carlos Pesina is still working at Midway and was mentioned in the credits of MK:T playing both Raiden and Nightwolf. He was even in that video card bio of Raiden that was included in the collectors version of MK:D.
v v I stand corrected, it's been years since I played MK: T.

^ Sal Divita played Nightwolf in MK3/UMK3/MKT, not Carlos Pesina, just so you know, also, it looks like Rich Divizio (Kano, Baraka, Kabal) Tony Marquez (Kung Lao) and John Parrish (Jax) don't have any hard feelings to Midway because they did recent interviews with Midway and all participated in MK2

It's funny, because that's not even the Johnny Cage Costume. It's just sun glasses, black pants and white shoes. It's so generic that anyone could put that together.

Yeah. I think what probably got Midway's goat was the fact that it refers to him as the actor that played Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat moreso then just the costume.
