OK just got to play the newest version. Really interesting. They seem to keep aiming for a more complete overall game. I just hope they take a look at the arcade versions at some point and contact me about creating a game based on them.

You know what MK2KungBroken, I really think you should join the forum where the creater(Kabal_MK) is so you can give him pointers about the gameplay & balancing of the characters so it can be more arcade like, the site is russian but with a good translator its easy to understand.

Also, when playing as either Shang Tsung, you can press B, B, Bl to morph in the other Shang Tsung.

Amazing work. I managed to DL it through constantly restarting the transfer, but now when I patch the 1938 it crashes when I go to pick any of the added characters.

I wish he would try out the arcade roms, or even respond to my messages, etc. I have gotten no response back from KabalMK at all. One guy from the board messaged me about stuff but only to work on a mugen project with him which has not happened. If KabalMK decides to work on the arcade version, let me know because I really don't want to see something like this Genesis version happen, in terms of the insane stuff that has been added. We want a serious game, that can be balanced out.

This looks absolutely amazing! I'm having trouble getting it to DL. Has anyone found or set up a more reliable mirror? It would be helpful if the first post in this thread was edited to include a good working link and a simple guide for setting it up. Not only can I not download it, but with all the info scattered across the thread I think that if I did get it, I would be too lost to do much of anything with it.

Its almost a waste of ressources that its made for the Genesis version of UMK3.
But of course its still very very nice.
If someone is able to contact the creators, tell them if its possible to make something similar with the Arcade Version!

I have tried so much to get in touch with KabalMK but he is in a stronghold 3 kilometers underground apparently with no internet. He makes the hack, a messenger comes and picks up a CD-R with notes to post it all on the internet apparently in his place.

As neat as this game is, I do not want to see this happen to UMK3 arcade, although I would like to see a realistic version of it, under the guidance of several people from this site.

I finally got around to checking this out, and i must say i'm quite impressed with the stuff that they've been able to pull off, not only with the addition of characters and backgrounds, but also the new moves and commands. Too bad that its for the genesis version rather than a better version. And it is a little too gimmicky.

MK2KungBroken, hopefully you can get on to the fellow that made this and get a decent version made with his help. If it is in fact possible to work on the arcade version in the same way, with a little help from you and some of the others on here it could turn out to be the Ultimate MK Trilogy!

Maybe I'm just a moron, but why are there two Shao Khans? They work exactly the same to me.

I always thought they were mk2 kahn and u/mk3 kahn, but I didn't notice a difference either.

OK yeah. I just downloaded the newest version, but I'm also having problems with the ROM. I can't go into the options menu or really do much of anything without the game crashing at all. I dunno what the problem is.

Great to hear it! However, there are two small bugs that I've noticed when playing this hack that maybe someone ought to tell him so that can be corrected.

1. On the new Character Select screen, P2 cannot do the Random Select on Khameleon. For some reason, P2 must do the Random Select on Sindel.

(The second bug has apparantly been fixed.)

I cant seem to get this to work. When I dl the patch file, it comes in zip form. I unzip it and open the file, but its the IPSEXE program that does the patching. I tried browsing for the original UMK3 rom, and clicking patch but it says it cant find it. Can anyone help?

They could program in the Bike Kick for MK1 Liu Kang and MK1 Sonya I think if they just used the falling in air frames, infact, I think it'd be hilarious to use the wobble animation off a teleport punch/ground ice in MKII, for their run frames, although I don't remember how much animation there was for that in MK1. Could you imagine Shang Tsung running at you with his arms flailing around? I can.
