When you see something in a fatality list like this:
Shang Tsung:
Kintaro Morph: Hold LP 25 sec release LP (sweep)
The (sweep) means you can be as far aways as maximum sweeping distance (approximately). Some fatalities look better at certain distances, other's have suck in properties or push away. In MK2, Reptile's head eat when done after an uppercut(flush against character) doesn't push the character away at all, their feet stay in position perfectly, same with Kabal's (from an anti air uppercut) head inflate on MK3. You can be as close to them as a step away if I remember correctly and the hose will just push them to half screen as long as you aren't against a wall.

The one button fatalities for MK3 snes are great because you get to do them at the end of every round. Also there are lots of times where the wrong person does a Fatality or someone does a fatality and the other person is still active and can be controlled. Try it a few times and you'll get to attack the Raiden transformation and uppercut Liu Kang's arcade machine and fun stuff like that.
I think my favorite part is when you attack the raiden transformation because Nightwolf can actually fight back against you when you do it. He is completely green and he is stuck in place behind the image of Raiden that is there. Its real funny.
EDIT:
And speak of the devil:

I thought it was strange how all the UMK3 and beyond characters have somewhat realistic looking animals as their animalities. They should have done the same thing in MKT with Liu Kang's Dragon and used the MK2 version, but then they might get sued by the Dragon, so nah scratch that.
