The only thing I can guess is what happened in the first movie. I know that the movie storyline and the game storyline are not connected in any way, (thankfully). But Cage did defeat Goro in the first movie, so thats the only reason I'd think they would ever be rivals.

Yeah, and I don't see how Goro could survive that fall off the cliff in the movie. In the game, I think Liu and Goro were fighting in his lair,but then what could've happened that had people thinking Goro was dead?

I though the same thing with the movie, but I was thinkinbg there may have been something in the comic books or something.....

I think it one of the best things of the movie was to make Cage kill Goro. Having to see Liu kill all the main ones would had sucked.

As I said before, somethings about the movies have had a big influence in the game. So, that pic U are talking about, might not mean anything. Remainding us that Cage killed Goro in the movie, and Goro wants revenge. Shit like that. BUt it hasent been confirmed that Cage was the one to kill Goro in the games, but in some comics, Ive seen Cage killing Goro,a nd anotherone were Cage, Sonya and Kano are klilling Goro.

Yeah, in the MKII comic, it shows a flashback to the end of MK1.

It confirms that Liu Kang defeated Goro in MK1. Then afterwards, while Liu was fighting Shang Tsung, Goro was fighting Johnny Cage, Sonya, and Kano all at once. As Liu Kang finally defeated Shang Tsung, the island began to crumble, Goro's fight with the 3 never finished, and we later find out that Goro was shamed and went into hiding after that.

Exactly.

The only connection I can make is from the first movie. They didnt have a rivalry in any of the MK games. In the games the only one one that Goro had a grudge against was Liu Kang because he supposedly beat him in the MK1 storyline.
