Did Liu Kang die. If so, which game was it in?

Liu Kang was killed in the opening intro of MKDA by Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. At first, Liu was winning against Tsung, but could not withstand both of the sorcerors.
In MKD, his body was ressurected in zombie form by someone/something as yet unknown (to the best of my knowledge) . His body went around murdering innocent people, so his soul, which was still the hero Liu, came back to fight against his body. His ending may or may not happen, but in it, Raiden manages to fuse the body and soul together, ressurecting Liu Kang as he was before.
Personally, I think his death was a good move. He'd become a stale character, and it allowed guys like Kung Lao and Sub Zero to develop further for possible hero roles in the future. While I personally haven't liked Turkey Boy since MK2, I would accept Liu back if he wasn't the main hero and champion again.

Ditto on all of that.

It began with turkey vocals and ended with a I dunno. It wouold have made more of an imopact if it was fficial and they didnt keep on ressurrecting. I hate the ressurections. It's like, a new guy comes back and has the ressurection power and uses it to ressurect people who died from being bad (liu kang) instead of the more powerful ones (Shang Tsung and Qquan Chi).

There was no soul in his body. The body was probably being controlled by Shang Tsung at the time.
