Was Mortal Kombat the first game to ever give the player the chance to finish off his/her opponent with a grisly speacial move, or did games before have it? I can't think of any other fighting games right now except street fighter, and i know that didnt have a finishing move.

Well you could Decapitate and delimb people in Time Killers, but it wasn't an end of the round fatality like in MK. Also, I think there was an SNK game wherein you could slice your opponent up or do something else nasty if you killed them with a hard attack. I remember a guy with a sword that could slice someone in two if his hard punch was the hit that killed him. I *think* that was Samurai Showdown. If it was then I think MK1 came out before it anyway.

It was Samurai Shodown, and that came out in 1993, after MK.

The best finisher ever is the Golden Shower from Primal Rage. I want to see Quan Chi piss on somebody.

The only finisher i remember for other games was from killer instinct when the girl flashed the opponent. How did they die though? I dont remember.

Mortal Kombat was the first one that had fatalities. If it wasn't the first one, Mortal Kombat sure did make it famous. Mortal Kombat but finishing moves on the map.
