woaahhh, wooaaaah, hold on her, hold on!
genesim, you say I need a 10 gig just to play pong, which implies I will need atleast even more than that to play umk3 smoothly.
but jtaylo says the minimum system requirements are: 2.4 GHz processor, 512 RAM
so which is it? 10 gig or 2.4 gig? which are the true minimum system requirments for umk3? which one of you are telling the truth?

10 Ghz computers don't really exist. He's just playing around.
2.4ghz, 512MB ram is probably the ideal system these days. Depending on the processor type 2.4 ghz could be what you need to run it, or it could be way more than you need.
I've run mame now on 2.2ghz Athlon, 1.8ghz Athlon, 1.73 Pentium M, 1.6ghz Core Solo, and a dual 1.13ghz Pentium 3 and it worked perfectly on all of those. How many mhz or ghz the processor is doesn't directly determine how fast it
But if you do a 1.4 ghz Celeron and its an older model it'll probably have problems.
Also, I am referring to Mame 32K .64. Some newer versions support more games, but use A TON more resources and the versions that have netplay added on tend to be less stable online.
Mame32K .64 is still the standard for online play.

well, If genesim was playing, it wasnt funny at all. I want serious help only please. Not some troll trolling this thread.
okay, so dnj, It isnt just dependant on RAM or mhz, but also on the model of the processor? wow, it just gets more and more complicated.
Okay, so heres what I got, the minimum system requirements that
will guarantee that Ill be able to play umk3 smoothly on any comp that meets these requirements are: 2.4 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM
^true?

A big problem with UMK3 is there was never a good home port until 360. So, getting UMK3 for genesis is like getting 1/5th the quality of graphics and gameplay of the arcade.
