John Tobias joins WB Games San Diego
MK Co-Creator's New Employment

After leaving a legacy behind in Mortal Kombat and after his work at Studio Gigante, John Tobias worked as a consultant in the games industry until 2012, when he joined social games studio Zynga. Earlier today, in response to someone who had asked him what he was up to, John dropped a tweet that said: "Keeping busy! Building the WBGames San Diego Studio w some super awesome people to create some super awesome games".

WB Games San Diego is a mobile game studio, creating free to play mobile games. It's unclear what exact role John Tobias may have in the company at this time, but this is exciting news none the less!

What does this mean for the world of Mortal Kombat? No one is really certain, but either way, it's quite a treat to see this industry legend working with Warner Bros. in the gaming industry.

Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge Trailer
Klassic fighters gather for cartoon Kombat!

The first trailer for the Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge animated feature has been released, revealing the first look at MK's new animation style and plot! Watch it here and read on for more details:

The 96 second trailer features the classic tournament plot from the original game, which was most recently retold and revised for the 2011 reboot, which Legends appears to take cues from. Shang Tsung hosts fighters from Earthrealm in the clip, which features classic heroes Raiden, Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, and Johnny Cage, as well as hostile representatives of Outworld: Goro, Reptile, Kitana, and the Tarkatan horde!

Patrick Seitz stars as Scorpion, whose titular revenge appears to take him from his rebirth after death in the Netherrealm, to his time pursuing Sub-Zero and serving the machinations of Quan Chi during the Mortal Kombat tournament. Character designs pay homage to Mortal Kombat X, with a clear focus on Scorpion's origins, but how much of his classic revenge plot and its revelations will play out in the feature remains to be seen.

IGN hosts the exclusive first-look trailer, with confirmation of an R rated release coming to blu-ray, DVD, and digital in Spring 2020. What do you think of the first Warner Bros Animation outing? Zelina Vega Enters WWE Royal Rumble as Sindel
MK cosplay at annual wrestling event.

The lines between Mortal Kombat and World Wrestling Entertainment blurred at today's annual Royal Rumble pay per view event. Wrestler Zelina Vega entered the rumble match at #25 dressed as one of the hottest Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters: Sindel! Take a look:

Vega entered the match at #25, arriving dramatically with an MK11 inspired, shoulder-armored jacket and raised arms that had Sindel fans screaming. It was a hard day at the office from there, her run ended with a choke hold from NXT Champion Shayna Baszler. Fortunately, there was plenty of time to show off her special ring gear, captured on the way out in a photo featured by WWE.com [below].

Zelina Vega was one of the WWE talents in attendance at last year's MK11 Reveal event, which also featured WWE Champion turned voice actor Ronda Rousey. She appeared in Sonya inspired attire at the 2019 Elimination Chamber.

Sindel returned in Mortal Kombat 11 late last year as one of the downloadable characters from the Kombat Pack! The updated scream queen can be seen in a featured reveal trailer and is available to purchase now! Did Vega's cosplay do her justice?
