It will be a star-studded event when the DC FanDome virtual convention goes live for 24 hours on August 22nd! We spotted Baraka in the teaser trailer, but a new guest list released by DC Comics promises a whole lot of special celebrity guests, including NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon! Take a look:
NetherRealm Studios has established close ties with DC Comics as the team behind a franchise launched with the Injustice: Gods Among Us fighting game. DC also published comics based on Mortal Kombat X, with a subsequent ambitious comics project rumored to have been explored for a time.
Boon's name can be spotted scrolling through at the 6 second mark, confirming the developer's involvement in the massive multimedia celebration. We've isolated a still shot below, just in case you had trouble seeing it:
Boon already joked about rubbing shoulders with Dwayne Johnson in the alphabetical list, quipping to Twitter: "That's right, I'm on a panel with Dwayne Johnson! #NotTrue #AlphabetListing" He may've ruled out a panel with the upcoming live-action Black Adam star, but he hasn't revealed what we should expect from the fan event appearance.
It could be a good time to reveal some upcoming skin packs: The Klassic Femme Fatale Pack will be released just three days after the event, with All Hallow's Eve skins to follow shortly after for Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath owners.
Injustice has also just returned with Injustice: Year Zero: a digital-first prequel comic that will reveal the fate of the Justice Society, and the reason for The Joker's infamous attack that drove Superman to establish his Regime. Series writer Tom Taylor is one of the names confirmed in the guest list released to social media. Take a closer look below:

Ed Boon will make his appearance even as rumors of a potential sale of WB Games casts an uncertain future. Mortal Kombat and the Chicago based development studio became part of the Warner Brothers empire -- which also owns DC Comics -- in a 2009 purchase. Microsoft have reportedly expressed interest.
