Unused Mortal Kombat X Kitana Design Concepts
NetherRealm Character Artists Reveals Unused Kitana Designs

Continuing the trend of artists releasing Mortal Kombat X concept art; NetherRealm Studios Senior Character Artist Solomon Gaitan has lifted the veil on unused concepts and digital modelling. His work was seen in a previous Kitana gallery; some of his unused designs now able to be seen in greater detail:

Gaitan's designs range from the exposed to the slightly cumbersome, exploring a variety of facets of the Edenian warrior princess. Of his revealing design pictured with red background, the artist explains, "It was too risqué, but something about a sexy princess kicking ass made her feel powerful to me."

Kitana's final game design exhibits basic conceptual elements seen in some of these designs, making for one of her best designs to date [see more]. Mortal Kombat X Ferra/Torr Concept Art
Concept Artist Justin Murray Shares Original Designs for Ferra/Torr

Concept artist extraordinaire Justin Murray is showing off some of his contributions to the freshly minted Mortal Kombat X. This time around it's the deadly duo of Ferra/Torr -- a character Murray helped bring to life!

Ferra/Torr was one of the most unique fighters introduced in Mortal Kombat X, developing a hybrid style beyond the tag team endurance combos of past games. Murray's design art shows an extreme left on the cutting floor -- Ferra's hind chain originally designed with a purpose. "The chain was used to swing her like a spikey mace but was removed."

Murray's other work includes designs for Mileena and Reptile & Kitana. You can see more of his work, and other NetherRealm Studios talents, in concept art galleries for Kitana & Reptile.
