MKX DLC: Kombat Kast Spotlights Alien - Today
Alien to feature on Developer Live Stream

In space no one can hear you scream, but scream you will when Alien arrives as part of Kombat Pack 2! In the next Kombat Kast, the developers will turn the spotlight on their fourth and final guest fighter. It goes live today (Thursday 25th) at 4:00CST streaming below:

The Xenomorph alien comes to Mortal Kombat X through a Tarkatan host, granting it new genetic traits including jagged teeth and retractable blades! It's a unique take on the classic movie monster, which will do kombat with franchise nemesis Predator, Jason Voorhees, Leatherface and the cast of Mortal Kombat XL, including Bo' Rai Cho and Tri-Borg! The possibility of the Alien making the crossover first solidified in speculation late last year.

Fan Unlocks Hidden Mortal Kombat Arcade EJB Menus
Mortal Kombat Arcade Gives Up Longheld Secrets!
Over the top violence grabbed headlines, while iconic characters supported a multi-media empire -- but a history of secrets and mystery made Mortal Kombat the stuff of arcade legends. Some rumors were never true and others not so secret, but thanks to YourMKArcadeResource, one of the great mysteries of over twenty years has been brought back and uncovered!

Laid bare, the "EJB Menu" is found in at least the first three Mortal Kombat arcade games. Once input, the menu allows the user to access a variety of diagnostic menu functions, including leader board edits and character ending sequences.

As explained in YourMKArcadeResource's video [embedded above], initiating the EJB Menu requires a lengthy string of alternating block inputs by players 1 & 2:

Mortal Kombat EJB Menu Input:
P1 (5x), P2 (10x), P1 (x2), P2 (x1), P1 (x2), P2 (x3), P1 (x4)

Mortal Kombat II EJB Menu Input:
P1 (5x), P2 (10x), P1 (2x), P2 (8x), P1 (2x)

Mortal Kombat 3 EJB Menu Input:
P1 (5x), P2 (10x), P1 (3x), P2 (1x), P1 (2x), P2 (2x), P1 (3x), P2 (4x)

The discovery is believed to be one of the first times the hidden menus have been accessed by fans! It accounts for at least one of the undiscovered secrets series co-creator Ed Boon has often cited.

MKX DLC: Does Tri-Borg Have a Fourth Variation?
Kombat Kast shows Tri-Borg with fourth variation - Cyber Sub-Zero!

As the name implies, Tri-Borg is a Lin Kuei cyborg possessing three variations based on Kombat's best known cyber-assassins: Sektor, Cyrax and Smoke -- or so we thought! Eagle eyed viewers of last week's Kombat Kast got the drop on a fourth Cyber Sub-Zero variation, pictured below:

The scourge of Cyber Sub-Zero was first introduced as part of the rebooted, retold, rewritten original trilogy story of Mortal Kombat (2011). Converted by the Lin Kuei in place of Smoke; Sub-Zero became the third featured cyborg playable in the reboot game. Killed during Sindel's decimation of Earth's fighters; Sub-Zero was remade human in the Netherrealm by Quan Chi -- as told in DC Comics' Mortal Kombat X #6. Allowing him to begin the latest game as a revenant, before being resurrected by Raiden in story mode.

Tri-Borg is said to be a new character with his own identity, which may not survive to be canon in future games [full story]. He reportedly has "a few interesting things" to say to Sub-Zero, and with the inclusion of a fourth Cyber Sub-Zero variation - that makes a lot of sense!

Does this new Sub-Zero variation invalidate the already hokey name of "Tri-Borg"? Does this variation tell us more about who he is? Could he be a reborn Bi-Han (formerly Noob Saibot), or a fallen Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei? Many, many questions. Register to share your answers with fans on the Mortal Kombat X forum!
