There remains no official announcement for an expected follow-up to Mortal Kombat X or Injustice 2, but a disgruntled Mexican voice actor may have given the most public acknowledgement of something in the pipeline from Warner Bros.

In a story picked up by Gameinformer; Lalo Garza took to Twitter last week to voice displeasure over a disagreement with Spanish localization company Pink Noise Studios.

The company removed the actor, who voiced Kung Lao and Reptile for the Spanish language market, following an alleged professional dispute. Translated to English, Garza's original tweet laments: 'How sad that a company that wanted a lot ends up making decisions that affect both [myself and] you, the consumers. Goodbye Kung Lao and Reptile.' Despite using the "MortalKombatXI" hashtag, he later clarified that he does not know if the new project was a direct sequel to Mortal Kombat X.

Though firmly in the category of rumor, this wouldn't be the first time a voice actor has accidentally confirmed an upcoming project. In 2014, the voice of Kitana, Karen Strassman, inadvertently offered the first concrete evidence of Mortal Kombat X in an update to her online resume. The game was officially announced just over a month later, in early June.

Garza's extensive credits include localized voices of Krillin in Dragon Ball Z and Donatello of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. He defended speaking openly about the project and grievance, citing a lack of contractual confidentiality. MK Online has contacted Pink Noise Studios for comment.

Anthony Marquez – best known for his portrayal of Kung Lao in Mortal Kombat II and Mortal Kombat 3 – has been performing all around Chicago with his band, collectively called Kung Lao and the Scorpions! The band is on Spotify and also has a CD for sale at various conventions. MK Online was on the scene at The Elbo Room this past Saturday and has the pictures from the evening, which included not only a concert but also an Ultimate MK3 tournament (SNES port).

The band performed their own original songs, like "Believe," "Try This Again," and "Life Without You," as well as covered some more popular music such as "Uptown Funk" (by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars), "Rock & Roll All Nite" (by Kiss), and "Pour Some Sugar on Me" (by Def Leppard). We managed to catch the entire concert here:

In addition, we did an impromptu interview with Anthony, who was joined by his friend Phillip Ahn — best known for his appearance in Mortal Kombat II as the shapeshifting sorcerer, Shang Tsung! In this mortal konversation, we find out that Anthony and Phillip were friends back in high school. Anthony also lets us know that he's working on a book about his Mortal Kombat experience and he expects it to be out in early 2019! Check that interview out here:

The team at Galloping Ghost Arcade have thrown together another excellent event: Shang Tsung’s Fight Night! This event gives fans a chance to interact with some of the actors and developers who were a part the arcade classics and helped make the original arcade classics. This event had been growing until it got so big it had to be renamed Kombat Kon, although it was downscaled a bit this year and morphed back into Shang Tsung’s Fight Night.

This event also marks the first time that the staff members Scott Howell, D'arque Bishop, CCShadow, and ]{0MBAT (tabmok99) have gotten together in 10 years. Of course, joining us is our newest member, FataLKaDe. Prior to the actual event, we managed to have a little get-together with a couple of the people from Netherrealm Studios, such as John Vogel (at Level 257) and Rigo Cortes (at an undisclosed location), and fans like Anthony from the Book of Remembrance and Skitter Comic patron Matt Kittredge:

Naturally, the highlight was the event itself, held on-site at Galloping Ghost and joined by Mortal Kombat veteran actors Philip Ahn, John Parrish, John Turk, Brian Glynn, and Chris Alexander, and even a surprise appearance by Ed Boon himself!

During the event, we also encountered Richard J. Cook, the developer of Super Combat Fighter: One of the fun things to do there was a real-life game of Test Your Might: They also had tournaments for each of the Mortal Kombat games there, and ran livestreams using direct feed from the actual arcade cabinets: There was even a free fan-created guide for the Sega Genesis port of the first Mortal Kombat: Of course, the actors provided signed photos (the smaller ones were free, the larger ones were $10 apiece): One of the exclusives that Galloping Ghost Arcade was able to offer was a set of realistic hand-painted statues of the characters from the first three Mortal Kombat games: There was some artwork available by Brandon Diaz, including not only prints but also some Air Scorpion and Air Cage t-shirts: There were also a couple of prints for sale of Mortal Kombat-themed Fortnite skins, done by DecayNRS: The arcade itself has over 640 arcade games, so rather than show you all of them, here are a couple that are tangentially related to Mortal Kombat, such as NBA Jam, The Grid, and Judge Dredd: Of course, Galloping Ghost was kind enough to let us set up our livestream and interview some of the actors. This event occurred during a very busy time. While Shang Tsung’s Fight Night was going on, NetherRealm Studios Community Manager Tyler Lansdown was at TwitchCon, friend of the site Total-MK won a Mortal Kombat II tournament at PAX Australia, and even Payne Train Gaming was at GamerFest Ireland. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves, whatever event they went to in their corner of the world!

This weekend the Mortal Kombat community will be coming together for a special event tomorrow—Saturday, October 27th—in Brookfield, Indiana. Galloping Ghost Arcade, arguably one of the nation’s largest arcade venues will be hosting Shang Tsung’s Fight Night. This event open to the public is an intimate setting with the Mortal Kombat legends—including various actors from the original Mortal Kombat game releases. The guest list provided below will be in attendance for an informal meet and greet setting, but will also open up the opportunity for fans to get autographs and photos with their favorite MK stars. There will also be various tournaments available for titles including Mortal Kombat (1992), Mortal Kombat II, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, and Mortal Kombat 4. The cost of the event is included in the $20 admission to the arcade. The event itself is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm Central.
