Scorpion Render Posted by NetherRealm Studios
A Detailed Look at the Undead Spectre

The Mortal Kombat 11 render of Scorpion has at at last been revealed! NetherRealm Studios has shared the new teaser image of the undead spectre, and in his new attire he is sporting splashes of red (similar to the Shao Kahn and Raiden renders released earlier in the week). The same background image is used here as in the other two, establishing a consistent style for all the MK11 renders released so far.

Mortal Kombat 11 Cover Art Revealed
Scorpion adorns official box art for MK 11

We're just one week out from the official Mortal Kombat 11 Reveal Events, where Mortal Kombat Online will be offering our exclusive minute-to-minute live dual coverage from both London and Los Angeles! As the community event draws near Ed Boon, co-creator of the franchise took it upon himself to provide the official look of the new cover art for the game on his Twitter profile. Other WB Games properties also followed his lead publishing the artwork on other channels like the official Mortal Kombat 11 Twitter page

The artwork shows Scorpion, who previously shown in the initial reveal trailer, is ready for the attack in a bright vibrate backdrop in contrast to the previous style used when Scorpion graced the box art of Mortal Kombat X. It will be interesting to see what changes may be made to premium editions of the game's release if any. Do you love the new box art? Would you change anything? Make sure to discuss your feedback in our our forums

Mortal Kombat 11 will be released globally on Tuesday, April 23rd for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, & PC.

Live Dual Coverage of Mortal Kombat 11 Reveal Event
Begins Thursday, January 17th!

Mortal Kombat 11, after months of anticipation and speculation, was announced this past December at The Game Awards with a reveal trailer. It was announced for all major platforms including Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, & PC for a release date of April 23, 2019.

Since the trailer, fans have been treated with various assets from official channels including such iconic characters like Shao Kahn, Raiden, & Scorpion. However, even with such a short window between announcement and release, fans have been eager for more!

NetherRealm Studios announced the day of the initial trailer that two concurrent Mortal Kombat 11 Reveal Events would be taking place on both sides of the globe for a chance for content creators and key Mortal Kombat community members alike to witness the official unveiling of game-play footage and new character introductions from this newest entry in the company's growing portfolio.

With that said, Mortal Kombat Online is proud to announce we are continuing a longstanding tradition of providing live coverage of the Mortal Kombat franchise from both locales! Our own tabmok99 will be leading the charge from London, while team members Scott-Howell, fatalkade, & Mobster4Christ will be live on the ground from Los Angeles!

We will be providing up to the minute coverage in real-time from both countries. Mortal Kombat Online members will be able to chat and react with others and staff to our live micro-blog while simultaneously being able to watch the official live stream of the keynote address which will be made public. We'll be providing instant reactions from staff along with photos and videos as it happens! We're committed to provide the quickest and best analysis you've come to know and trust from us over the years at Mortal Kombat Online.

The Mortal Kombat 11 Reveal Event will be taking place with the keynote starting promptly at 11 A.M. PST/7 P.M. GMT on Thursday, January 17th. What would you like to see at the reveal? Official MK11 Image Highlights Armored Raiden
NetherRealm spotlight new look Thunder God

Building off yesterday's release of a new Shao Kahn render: NetherRealm Studios has shared a new image of Raiden, spotlighting the Thunder God's latest armored attire. Update: The full-size render has officially been released and can be seen with the smaller preview below.

Raiden's new gear was first glimpsed in the Mortal Kombat 11 Announce Trailer and again in the first official gameplay screenshots. It shows a slick new armored style for Raiden, who is in possession of Shinnok's amulet and has incorporated the powerful talisman into his chest gear.

The new image was shared via the MK11 Discord channel and offers just one glimpse at Raiden in the new game. Mortal Kombat 11 will boast extensive customization options that will allow fans to take creative control of their favourite fighters.

Mortal Kombat Klassic Arcade Cabinet Coming 2019
Arcade 1up retail release coming September

Arcade 1up, who manufactures arcade cabinets designed for the home user, is adding a Mortal Kombat Classics machine to its lineup! Some of its previous games include a combination Pac-Man & Pac-Man Plus, Galaga & Galaxian, and the rival fighting game Street Fighter II/Street Fighter II Turbo/Super Street Fighter II. Judging from the artwork on the cabinet, it appears that this unit will contain Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Just as with previous re-releases of the klassics, the vanilla Mortal Kombat 3 will not be included in this kollection.

Some of the features of these cabinets include:

  • Optional riser add-on, raises height to 57.8" (for playing while standing)
  • Optional bar stools (for playing while seated)
  • 17" LCD screen
  • Simple assembly
  • Authentic arcade joysticks, trackballs, buttons and sounds
  • No quarters required
  • Adjustable volume
  • Official licensed authentic cabinet artwork
  • 1p and 2p controls

This unit is expected to be available for sale September 2019, at retailers such as Best Buy, GameStop, and Target. Although pricing for the Mortal Kombat kabinet has not officially been announced, it's worth noting that all of the other cabinets retail for $299.00 USD.
