Order and Chaos
If you had to choose whose rule you'd want to live under, who would it be? Havik's, or Hotaru's?
I'd choose Havik's. Obviously the world he wants to create would be dangerous, as there'd be essentially no rules, but it'd be a hell of a lot better than to live under Hotaru's strict, repressing and suffocating order. And while the lack of rules means anyone could attack me if they wanted to, I could attack them, too.
I also believe that Havik's principles aren't completely bad, he just takes them to the extreme. And they're not all about violent chaos, but pretty much any kind. In Havik's world, you probably wouldn't have to dress a certain way.
In the end we need a mix of both order and chaos, but if I could only choose between the two extreme stances, then chaos.

Chaos would be the obvious choice because it promotes freedom and expression.
And it really isn't as dangerous as you may think. If you take a look between Seido and the Chaosrealm, you have a much greater chance at being beaten, imprisoned, or killed in Seido, because the slightest thing you do wrong could be an extreme offense.
In the Chaosrealm, people simply do what they want, and it is never always theft, murder, or mere attacking others. They just live freely.
If I had to choose, I would definitely choose the Chaosrealm. I won't have to worry about the oppression of a regime, and I won't have to worry too much about watching my back, because everyone's busy minding their own business, doing what they want.

I'd go Order realm so I could be a storm trooper. Storm troopers are cool.
Seriously though don't get me started on how terribly realized Order/Chaos realm are. I mean I know it's the Mortal Kombat universe but Order and Chaos realm are especially bad. Part of my beef with this is that I somehow stumbled across a fantasy series called The Saga of Recluce when I was a teenager and the concept of Order and Chaos were integral parts of that universe. In fact, in that universe it's the driving force of magic, technology, government, philosophy, and life. So to watch how Vogel and company handled it in MK feels very "Saturday morning cartoon."

Chaosrealm has better scenery. A swirling vortex and floating coffins? Sure!!
I find it really badly put together though, that everyone there 'worships' chaos. E.g. Those priests 'worshipping' that building almost following blindly. (being a slave to a belief system instead of being so-called 'freed' by one). If they truly worshipped entropy they'd bash that building to rubble. I found it frustrating that you couldn't even hit them.

"Entropy" isn't synonymous with chaos, it means decay.

I know that, i just think a bashed-up rubbly ruin would represent it better symbolically. And in Havik's bio he mentions entropy as part of his manifesto.

There's not actually anything random or unpredictable about entropy though.
The fact that every single thing in the world is guaranteed to decay at a steady rate until the heat-death of the universe seems very Orderly to me.

Not necessarily. It has been observed that particles in nature seek a relaxed state
Chaosrealm would NOT be a great place to live at all. I'm pretty sure everyone there would be some kind of narcissist or psychopath that only cares about them self. If you're old and can't support yourself, you're probably screwed because no one has any obligations to take care of you. If someone didn't like the way you blinked at them, they could kill you just like that. Imagine a world where gangs probably ruled and did whatever they wanted to you and everyone would be too scared or insane to try to stop them under the guise of "freedom" or anarchy.
I would much rather live under the oppression, but firmly laid-out rules, of Seido.

Why is the battle between these two realms not a plot line in this game???

Maybe it will be. I think the NRS team like Havik and Hotaru enough to bring them back, and they know that many fans like those characters too. We'll have to wait and see. In an interview EB said things that didn't rule them out.
