My MKX roster theory

I just want to put my theory out there and see what yall think.

First off, i predict there will be default roster of 24 and get more through dlc eventually. Of those 24, i really do believe half the roster (12) will be new characters and only 12 "klassics" originally returning. Why i believe that is because Ed has said that he believes there will be more new chars introduced at once than ever before in a mk game. Current record holder is mkda with 10 new characters in total. So if mkx truly does have more new chars, it looks like to me it will be total of 12.

With that said, for my theory there will only be 12 mk klasivs returning in default roster. Subby, scirp, and raiden, the most obvious three, are indeed confirmed as you know so fitting my theory that would leave 9 others. Anyways ill go into more detail why i think these chars will be in if you want, but for now this is my current roster prediction....

12 new (4 confirmed)
Sub zero (confirmed)
Scorpion (confirmed)
Raiden (confirmed)
Rain
Kenshi
Mileena
Baraka
Reptile
Quan Chi
Goro (yes i predict as playable)
Ermac
?????

Ok so idk who to predict for last, could be anyone.... Anyways what yall think?

It's been confirmed that MKX will ship with at least as many characters in the main roster as MK9. That makes for 27 (28 if you count Kratos).

I may be optimistic but I hope for slightly more returning characters than new ones--though, judging by what we've been presented so far, I won't be upset if they were mostly new.

Tanya = Shoe in.
Reptile = Shoe in.
Quan Chi = Shoe in
Ermac = Shoe in.

I'm not sure about the others.

Rain must be shoe in, if not, Boon is a mega-evil-troll that should be hated by all Rain Fans.

There will definitely be more post-MK3 characters in the roster. Boon confirmed that. He also said that MKX will have as many characters as MK9 had when it shipped, if not more. Having that said my prediction looks like this:

List is off by a mile. Boon said you defenitely will see a mk4 character and he said you will see characters from the later games.

I predict Shinnok will be kind of like Shang Tsung was in MK9, so, will be playable, and will always be the enemy before the Sub Boss, and will be more powerful than the regular Shinnok the player can select.

Im curious.where the info is about roster size and that post mk3 chars will return? I just.havent seen it... But e3 build suggest roster 24 and i know it not final but 24 x 3 variations =72 styles of play already so it wouldnt surprise me if ed settled on 24.

We can include No-Face on the roster. He's a legit shoe-in. No other character fits the block.

Just really thinking which block Raiden is in on the select screen?

From Polygon's interview with Ed at E3:
Boon says Mortal Kombat X will have a roster at least as big as the last Mortal Kombat — which shipped with nearly 30 fighters — and that "obviously" downloadable characters will follow.

He also said (to TRMK) that an MK4 character will most definitely be in (who wasn't seen/in MK9) and characters from later games may also appear (or at least in cameo form for story mode.)
Ed Boon: You will definitely see a Mortal Kombat 4 character, I believe that's the first time I've said that. You will also see some of the later game's fighters. You'll also see cameo's in the story mode. Some really fun ones.

According to TRMK, that's not who it is. Ed apparently already told McCarron what the new finisher is, off the record, so either McCarron knows who this mysterious MK4 character is (as it seems,) or Ed just gave him that same hint.

If you read TRMK's E3 interview with Boon, he hinted at three characters, specifically mentioning Raiden and Johnny Cage by name, then saying an MK4 character, which is almost certainly Quan Chi. That's all we have to go on at the moment.

Every new game since Deadly Alliance, I've seen the same old roster guesses over and over. Here are two things I've noticed in that time:

Half the roster won't be ninjas and cyborgs, despite "popular opinion." That never happens, except for remakes (MK9) and the pallet-swapping era.

There are NEVER way more villains than heroes. Again, despite "popular opinion."

Look at your roster guesses, and if either of the above statements don't fit, it's probably not happening.

Boon DOES hate Rain; he's said it numerous times in the past. That doesn't mean he won't be in, but it does hurt his chances considerably.

As far as No Face being a shoe-in, lol. Its been stated several times by Boon that a good amount of the silhouettes in the roster were merely placeholders to basically fuck with us. As someone said on the last thread, forget about him amd amy players from that horrible game!

I really dislike Reptile and Smoke. Baraka and Mileena are ok, but I don't feel like including them. Stryker however is a badass IMO and I would like to see more from him.
But yeah I fear the ones you mention have more chance than Stryker.

Stryker and Smoke are "dead" so I doubt we'll be seeing them in MKX. If Sub and Scorp are in I'd say Reptile has a very good chance of being in too. Mileena and Baraka might be in but I'd say Mileena has the better chance. Who knows tho

Disappointed to hear Boon hates Rain, not sure if he straight up hates the character but I do remember Rain started as a joke character and Boon still seems like he sees him that way. Thats kinda a shame though, Rain was awesome in MK9 and the game needs an Edenian (sp?) villian. But with so few characters returning I don't know if Rain would be high priority compared to the shoe ins like Quan Chi, Shinnok, etc. Really hoping he makes it though.

Lol i actually have a different theory about how liu could be back as a god and the main story revolving around this war between the gods with motals caught in the middle. We got raiden and kotal kahn already. I think rain is probably on his way. Subby they can make him come off like a god. Then have shinnok and fujin and maybe another new god or two and BAM you got mk gods among us lol
