Um, probably cause they wanted people to find out about it for themselves...

There's alot easier whay then just 10 seconds...

They probably forget that it wasn't even released, or they just didn't care since there was the Cheat Menu codes to get them anyway.

I remember guessing and wanting the code so badly as nobody knew what it exactly was. Did it maybe unlock the missing classic mk1 Kano, Raiden etc? Or maybe the missing Chameleon?
This code was so extensively sought after for so long without any result that people actually thought it didn't exist and wasn't implemented by the devs. It was a major mystery as no code ever stood uncracked this long. But now after so many years it appears like the devs DID implement it and the Ultimate Kode DID exist.

This must have been the best kept secret with longest search to discover in game history? It's what makes MK so special. It's a game with a certain mystery and mystic element years and years after.

So if it took 10 years to discover this, without a leak from midway, perhaps there really is a kano transformation in mk2........ok. gotta go, the rumor police are here to arrest me.

The rumour goes this code was found with help of gameshark after extensive rom hacking didn't deliver the code (the code was too well protected inside the rom).

If this code could can be uncovered after 10 years...then maybe there still is hope for finding or explaining the Kano Transformation ;) (i did saw the counter sometimes being on 1 or more).
Or what about Rain in UMK3? He was seen in the demo mode and there even were messages (Rain can be found on the graveyard etc).
Wasn't there a minor secret yet to be found in MKDA aswell (a version display and who knows what more)?

Great stuff. really great . but i am waiting for Rain in UMK3 arcade aswell. i saw the demo in wich he is fighting Shao Kahn, but there is no known way of unlocking him. I can only unlock Mileena, Ermac, masked Sub Zero. and i think there are some tricks to play as Noob Saibot, but Rain really is missing there. .. i hope someone finds him, because i am a little tired of failed tries to unlock him.

Rain isn't unlockable in UMK3 arcade, and Noob can only be played with hacks.

And the MKT Ultimate Kombat Kode doesn't exist......(was everyone saying for 10 years)
