Should they, instead, use the money they would be using on a cac mode on other stuff, like better gameplay with all the characters or making better mini-games?

I'd prefer to have fun playing as all my favourite characters, in a great game, with a superb storyline, than have the ability to make overly complicated created characters, who would probably suck and be difficult as all hell to control, in a mundane game with a terrible plot. In my opinion, created characters are best left for other games, wrestling games most likely, and fan fiction. I think MK should stick with its own characters and make a decent game with them alone.

Yes. It will allow people to be original.
Best choice would be to have the pieces of the cac character reasonable, and nothing reminiscent of the other fighters. therefore, a customizable
"Jinko" would both fit perfectly as original, and
-avoid being Lin Kuei, Shirai Ryu or whatever ninja,
-avoid having ninjas roaming with moves from Scorpion and anyone else.
Basically what I am saying is that they should limit the choices for integrity.
Doing so all characters will be original, since no ripoff can be made from other MK chars (hoods and masks, and such things).

that would be fun, most fighting games do have one why not mk, plus you shouldn't have to be human looking, you can be a centaur, oni, saurion, shoank, tarkarn (sp?) or some half breed of a few of these, or you could be undead, it would just be kinda cool

It could be great, but it would probably be awful.
Soul Calibur's create mode is really limited, and an bit of an excuse for the main game being not that great. Tekken and VF have that customisation thing, but most of the `items` you get are shite.
I would like a bigger costume selection though.

If midway want's to put in a create a character mode, then it better be good. It better not force you to have to buy the pieces of clothing in the vault. I want everything to be open to me when I first try it, unlike in SC3 when you had to buy most of it.
