It's been a topic of discussion for some time around here now about how a lot of people feel the leaked roster is underwhelming. New developments in the comic have got me thinking that while the roster leak may be legit, it's possible that it wasn't the FULL roster. What was leaked could have been the roster at a slightly earlier point as NRS has said that they would be adding people until they run out of time, basically.

So here's the roster scenario I'm going to pitch out...

The same 24 characters on the leaked roster, PLUS 4 additional characters making it a total of 28. The additional characters would include Rain(a no brainer after his story mode appearance with a new costume) and 3 more 3D era characters...maybe Tanya, Fujin and Frost.

Plus two characters you unlock once you've beaten story mode: Reiko, the sub-boss and Havik, the final boss. (Boon did say he wanted the boss to be playable this time)

The roster that was leaked certainly isn't bad but it needs a bit more balancing out, and a little extra 'oomph'. I think this would take the roster from passable(thus slightly disappointing) to impressive...maybe the best roster we've ever had IMO.

Would this make anyone else happy who has been feeling underwhelmed by the leaked roster?

I'd rather have Li Mei over Fujin. Other than that, your suggested roster sounds fine.

That would be fine with me. The ones that really matter to me in my scenario are Rain, Reiko and Havik. The other 3 could be a number of people. Even though I know a lot of folks think we already have too many Trilogy characters, I honestly wouldn't mind Smoke being one of them. It could be Fujin, Smoke and Li Mei as the other 3.

But yeah with this scenario we would actually 2 more characters on the initial roster than MK9 had, I think.

That would be the best possible roster we could get giving the circumstances and the already announced characters.

Hey, if Baracka can get stapled back up so can Mavado.
I'm not even a Mavado fan but if he came back like that joking about how easy it is in MK to come back from death it'd be hilarious/awesome

I would still be upset, too many classic characters got the shaft this time around. Nothing short of noob and smoke as dlc along with spawn as one of the guest characters would make me happy. Just being honest.

Smoke could be included. The ones that really matter in my scenario are Rain, Reiko and Havik. The other 3 characters could be a number of people. Smoke would be great.

Considering there are at leat 2 classic characters as DLC, and we know by now that Cage, Sonya and others are pretty much confirmed to be in the main roster, I wonder who those classic DLCs will be. Maybe a couple of the modelled revenants like Sindel? I'd really like that.

The leaked roster plus Sareena, Reiko and Sindel would be great for me. I still think there is more in the main roster than what the "leak" says considering late proof.
