Why all the hate for console exclusive characters in MKX?

I said that I think Sweet Tooth will be in MKX for a Playstation exclusive but alot of people just hate the sound of this. Really? Think about this, who are two characters you want to return? Mmm hmm. Now go play MK Armageddon because those two characters can fight in that game. I mean, come on. Would you rather have Johnny Cage vs Sonya Blade, a fight which can happen in 4 games already or Johnny Cage vs Spwan? Jax and Kenshi? THAT fight can happen in 4 games. But Kenshi vs a Predator can't. Scorpion vs Sub-Zero can happen in 10 games. 10! But Scorpion vs Sweet Tooth has NEVER happened. Why do people hate guest characters?! Now don't get me wrong, I DO want Johnny Cage and Sonya to return, preferable as DLC, as well as Kenshi but I would much rather watch Sweet Tooth fight Sub-Zero then watch Johnny Cage fight Sub-Zero. I would rather watch a Predator rip off Reptiles head then watch Sonya do this. And I would rather have a guest character take the spot of a returning character.

People don't like it because if an awesome character is on the xbox but you have playstation then you're pissed

and vice versa.

This i agree with this too...also i may be bitching but i don't really want to see non.MK characters in a MK game, i just don't think it's necessary.

Still if it happens then i'll just simply try the character once and then go back to the ones i'll try to main for the rest of my gameplay :)

I play Mortal Kombat for the MK story and MK characters. I don't need guest characters that are meaningless and lack any impact on story or atmosphere.

I'd rather Sonya take off Reptile's than some random character who - while interesting in their own medium - has no relevance to MK.

And in the stance that a guest character is in a MK game, he should get the same treatment all fighters do.

I'm looking at you, Fatality non-selling 'too bad ass to scream in pain' Kratos.

But I love Spawn tho.

Don't get me wrong I love guest characters, but they should be an after-thought after the initial roster.

I'm hoping Spawn and The Predator turn out to be true for the MKX guest characters.

I'm not upset about exclusives. It's guest characters in general. It's wasted roster space for actual MK characters that folks are clamoring for. I'm a huge horror fan and nightmare on elm street is my series of choice. However I still don't think freddy should be in MK. That spot could've been for any new or returning character. It is what it is though. I understand it's a business and they are used mainly for promotional purposes for new projects and to draw in new fans. I don't complain about it though. There's nothing that can or will be done about it. So I'll download even the guest characters to support NRS that way I can always contribute towards the next installments release.

I think sweeth tooth some perfect character to put it the game. I'll will also say that spawn and the predator is a good idea but if one is allowed sweeth tooth would definitely be in there.

I don't care for exclusives, they're just another marketing strategy. I just dislike guest characters in general.

I hate the idea if console exclusive characters. Guest characters on the other hand, I'm fine with. I'm really hoping that the spawn and predator rumors come true. Spawn is my favorite character of all time and fits into mk perfectly and predator would also be a nice fit.something like sweet tooth could be cool but not a fan of one console having different characters than the other.

Rosters are limited. Not everyone's favourite MK character gets in. Jade, smoke, whoever.
We get 4 dlcs apparently - Id far rather 4 MK dlcs for characters who missed out on the roster instead of some pop culture character.

I'm okay with guest characters but hate the idea of console exclusive fighters. It alienates half of the fans one way or another. With guest characters at least NRS can pull from a decent amount of choices that everyone can have access to, whereas console exclusives may feel more forced into the game. It should be a non-issue as the team has confirmed no console exclusive characters for MKX.
