I do think the thread starter is looking too much into the intro video.

Reiko was a somewhat interesting character, and he could be a feasible pawn character to bring back. He could possibly return if they want someone to serve the new boss. However, with most characters being killed off, and a lot more having more imminent matters to resolve than Reiko, I don't think it is likely.

Midway just confirmed the rosters finality, the new games will contain new characters. + Both Vogel and Boon held Reiko to be a disappointment.

i just thought reiko was one of the most badass looking caracters.... and his moveset was awesome, i love his moves, weapon, everything....

Reiko is a lame-ass and uninteresting character. Eversince his debut in the game, he has never appealed to me or really caught my attention. Forgettable. Couldn't care less if he does not return in future MK games.

Yes, of course they are going to have new characters. That's pretty much a given. However, we DON'T know which characters (aside from Scorpion, Sub-Zero and probably Raiden) from the current generation will return in the next. Reiko's return is not an impossibility, regardless of how much Vogel dislikes him.

Anyway, regarding the question to the thread, to me, it's kind of an iffy thing. It all depends on what they can really do with him. It's actually somewhat of a shame as his origins and history are still pretty obscure.

The impossibility thing is true. He still has a chance on coming back. (even though I think he's a goner). Just because they don't like a certain character, that doesn't mean he's a goner. and just because they like a character, that doesn't mean they're 100% in the next game (like Darrius for example, Vogel likes him but that doesn.t mean he's 100% coming back.

Reiko has not been confirmed to be gone so who ever said that can go to hell.

I wouldnt mind if Reiko came back, I like him.

I liked Reiko in Armageddon in every aspect except for his weapon.

But I'd rather not see anyone return from the old games besides Scorpion and Subzero. I want all new characters, but not lame ones like Kobra, Darrius, Kira, Mavado, Hsu Hao, etc.

Well I only like playing with him in Mk:A, because his moves are quick, and is one of my secret weapons online. Unfortunately, I dont like him at all, when it comes to any other mk game, and I mean story, and look. That guy is obselete when it comes to any future MK games, because he is too associated with Shao Khan when fans think about him.

I absolutely don't need a character like him.
He just wants to put his ass on a throne and having Shao Kahn's mask.

Sure, he is one of my favorites, he could be the next Shao Kahn, or for a really wierd plot twist, he kills Shao Kahn and takes his helmet, when he puts it on it fuses to his head, Shao Kahn's helmet starts talking to him and drives him to insanity, much like Shao Kahn was. It turns out Shao Kahn was a decent mortal the only thing giving him powers and making him crazy was HIS HELMET! OMG!

Reiko return? I certainly hope not.

Not only do I think he's pure lame, but also one of the worst characters ever created to fit in. I hope they do away with him, never to return again.

I never really played as him much in the games. In my opinion, he's an ok-ok character but I don't really care if he comes back or not. There aren't lot of new characters that I liked, I just hope the new ones are badass and fun to play as.
