I'm not too keen on Taven. His moves seemed cheap and his costumes seem boring. And am I the only one to notice that he talks to himself?

Anyway, I think Li Mei would be perfect for the main character.

I think Sonya, she's been trying to fight several tasks since MK1, she is a legendary character too. Sonya, should take the lead role in the next game. it is unlikely that anyone from the past could take the lead role because ED mentioned that no one would return and that it would start from scratch again. Hopefully he changes his mind and makes Sonya return so she could take the lead role!

I believe that, and hope that, Taven becomes the new protagonist of MK.

I think he's a much better fit than Liu Kang, especially because he's involved with all the realms and not just Earthrealm. He also showed a lot of potential in his lead role of MK: A, and seems to have the characteristics that the main guy should have. He's headstrong, determined, inquisitive, and not too nice (which Liu was). It gives him not only everything he need to be the protag., but also an extra edge that I'm sure would keep his character interesting in the years to come.

Of course, every protagonist needs the "friend" character and the "lead female" alongside him.

Sonya should reclaim her role as the lead female of MK. She's perfect for it, just like Taven is for a protagonist! Sonya is similar to the Taven in that she holds the same qualities as him, which is a must for the lead female. Not only that, but she also being something new to the mix. She's got a "sarcastic/ironic" attitude, and with that, contributes to MK with a crude humor that always works well for a lead character.

The spot of "friend" is open to a lot of characters, IMO. Many fit the role of a second "main guy" - but if I were to choose, A) Bring back Johnny Cage for this role or B) Bring a new character to the mix. The "friend" character needs to make up for the protagonist's headstrong attitude by having a lighter personality, something that Johnny always boasted throughout the series. If we can't have him back, bring a new character to the mix that has that personality.

Those are my 2c on the subject NOW EVERYONE AGREE WITH ME OR UR OPINION IS WRONG!

scorpion because he so deserves it and has so much drama in his life w/ his family and all and it would b so awesome 2, and has anyone seen his MKA ending, they could do a game about him so easily and edd boon said scorpion is his favorite and is thinking about using him alot more, ofcourse we all know that a new character is going 2 get the big role as usuall and i wouldnt b surprised if they didnt put any old characters in the game at all they way everyone is going on about it, but if an old character is the star its going 2 b scorpion 4 sure, lui kang had his time and now its up! and besides everyone loves scorpion, hes the most popular person in the series even w/ the crew of MK, im routing 4 scorpion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if they do have a new character though it should b a girl 4 once!

that is just some silly rumor and ed boon never even said anything of the sort in the countless interviews i have watched! and besides that would b impossible and just plain dumb, i mean if u think about all the endings of mk and how they still remain unfinished its just plain stupid 2 think that he would just drop all the characters and pick up new ones, besides mk8 is the last game in the series, there r none after it, so do not believe those rumors cuz their not true its just so impractical! besides i recall boon saying he would never give up some of those characters, the games would just feel incompleate w/out them.

I don't see why he deserves the big role when his story is a mess and his character portrayal is horrendous.

I am so damn tired of Smiley onslaughts.

I want to See Liu Kang. I want to go back to teh good old days of the MK storyline where there were actually tournaments and not random fights when a villian comes up.

I also want to see Shujink as one. But I want him to stay good, due to the fact that I dont see him with enough villany like qualities as a bad guy. I want to see Shujinko use the power Onaga gave him to wipe out someone like Raiden.

To the people that complained about Taven's and his moves being generic... look at Liu Kang He worked (supposedly).

I think that mabye Sub-Zero should get the role, because in the MKDA Ending of Sub-zero, It says that he would be the next protector of earthrealm after Liu Kang, or something like that, and he looks like a big and strong enough warrior to protect earth.

I think that the bad role should go to Daegon Mabye (I hate Daegon but...), say that he gets angry because Taven was the one who got the gift and someone like the One Being helps but Manipulates him behind his back or somethign like that

A guy like Dairou or a girl like Jade

i've notice that not too many are saying some of the females should get the leading roles. are you sexists or something? (did i spell that right?) j/k, but still, it would be nice to have a female take either as the leading role or the main bad guy... its a change for onces.
