You nut jobs. It's going to be Belokk. Because no one is better than he. Think about it. He didn't get cut out of MK4. He knew it was going to suck, so he took himself out. That's why he hasn't been in Deadly Alliance, Deception, or Armageddon. Because they weren't up to his standards.
But MK8... mwahahaha.

I think someone completely new should carry on the big role in MK8. It will show the transition from the old generation to new generation. This could also give MK a new "clean slate" feel which is strongly needed, imo. A new story line, new main character, I'd actually love for that to happen.
But if there was a person from the old generations who should carry on the big role is the Wind God Fujin. He will be the "raiden" of the next generation, while Raiden himself would become the "enemy." I'd find a clash between these two gods would be intriguing. But that's just me.
Other characters I believe who have a "chance" of being the lead person if they are in the next gen:
-Kitana
-Ermac
-Sub Zero
-Kung Lao
Basically those who seemingly have a "leadership quality" to them.

Just because you like Baraka doesn't mean everyone does. In fact I've grown to hate Baraka. I think of him as the most gimmicky character yet. In fact, out of the hordes of Tartakans, surely there's a better warrior. He can be replaced.

I agree. I have come to hate him. Anyways, are his And Kung Lao's Rivalry still on or what? I figured because of the Armageddon Opening Video

call me crazy but i would like to see noob as the main character in mk8. if his ending(aside from defeating blaze) is cannon, then he would be in a sense a new character and would have a new storyline.

EDIT : I could actually see Mortal Kombat With Ermac as the main character. Well, yeah! I really like the idea. But like Kung Lao kind of be the second hero. Not throw him off in one game. Have Kung Lao as the hero in at least two games or so.

Idk... Look, Kung Lao was (kinda) the hero for Deadly Alliance... Did he come back for Deception? No, Look At Shujinko. How long did he stay as the "Man"?Not that long. They might have Taven as a playable character but that is all. (Unless Rain does infact kill him and Daegon)
BarakaFanatic Wrote:
I'd say Taven would become that.
But I hope it'll be a new character. Since it has been said almost no one returns, please let a new MAIN guy (or girl, I don't care) take that place.

Good point. Jinko was indeed not a good choice, so I see where you're going. Maybe it's better to have someone we know to return voor the enxt MK as a hero.
But I also still hope they're sticking to the fact that everyone (let's say almost everyone) will die. Next to Scorp and Subby (who will obviously return) no more than 1 or 2 should return. A lot of storylines don't add up to Mk anymore, or got so twisted that it's better to end it. The only way to do that is to kill those characters off.
Let's say Kung Lao will in fact stand up to be the main hero. The only thing I'm hoping for is hat he'll be older than he is now. He hasn't aged since MK 2. Moving on to a next generation, his experience is what he can use as a guide to the new warriors.

Yeah, He should at least be around, lets say, as old as Shujinko was before he turned the final stage of old. That is not a bad idea. And Yes he should share his experience with his new warriors. Kung Lao and Fujin should at least. I don't see Kenshi helping any one out perminately though.I can see him temporarly helping people like how him and Sub-Zero did in Deception.

I think if any of the current cast becomes the new main hero, it should be either Sub-Zero or Kung Lao. Or hell, maybe both....maybe the next game will feature two huge threats?
If they want a new character to be the main hero, they shouldn't force it. That was one of the things that went wrong with Shujinko. He came from out of nowehere and was hyped as the "new hero" and it came across as forced. One of the reasons Sub-Zero and/or Kung Lao work is because they've grown into the role.
If they go with a new character, they shouldn't hype him/her as "the new main hero" right from they start, they should develope the character into that role.

Sub-Zero, Frost, Shang Tsung or Hotaru... i know i know What so important about Hotaru? He's got cool armor and i liked his story in Deception. but seriously
Sub-Zero, Frost, Shang Tsung or hotaru (Not becuase they're my favorite characters but they're cool!)
what a noob thing to say huh?

It doesn't matter if they are cool, it is a bonus though. So choose who you think honestly can step up and be the hero. Has the most leadership,So that marks out Kenshi. Sub-Zero looks to be a good leader, so does Kung Lao. Kitana perhaps. I wouldn't mind seeing Jade Or Kitana the Hero this time, but at least have one more hero onside. Such as Kung Lao,Sub-Zero,etc... Maybe even NightWolf, or hmmm.. That is all of the people that have leadership skills IMO. If There are anymore post em'.
