Because 8 out every 10 new characters they introduce, everyone hates.

Anyone from MK4-Deadly Alliance are not new characters, they would be returning characters.

Different era. In this era, where NRS seems to be given the time and money to make a real winner, I have faith that they could develop some completely new characters, with new moves, backgrounds, storylines etc that fans would embrace.

Just my opinion though.

As for new characters, while the look of the character wouldn't be new, I've always wanted to play as one of those floating shadow priests like the two on either side of the portal in MK2.

Not sure how that could be done, but I'd love to see it.

Thanks for the comments. Also I ment New OR RETURNING characters, Because they'd be new to that timeline's kombat.

Indeed.

I'm perfectly fine with returning characters but with the new timeline I'm hoping many of the events in Deadly Alliance-Armageddon never happen and are never addressed. I don't want to see them happen again with a different outcome, I want a completely new story. With that comes new characters. I'd prefer something new to almost every character after MK3. Tanya I feel is a necessity, and there are a few others that loads can be done with in the new timeline, but I still would rather a brand spankin' new character.

Robocop.

Robocop should be a new character in MK 10.

Failing that: Segata Sanshiro.

That's generally because most of the fans are stupid and can't stand anything too different.

Back to topic, I'm fine with rumored characters becoming real, but in Nimbus' case, if MK was going to have a Boxer-type character, I'd like it to be a woman. Belokk is a character I absolutely want to see make an appearance.

A new character?

Ragdoll - A creature of Shao Kahn's Flesh Pits. It's basically an abomination built from the bodyparts of dead fighters. tongue

If they bring Nitara back, Kahil Grigesh might follow. Otherwise he can remain unknown.:P

Naming or imagining a totally new char is a little hard. I wish for a follow up to MK9 but with more chars taken from the MK4-MKA era. Since from now on, they remain locked in time and Armageddon can be avoided.

Tremor. To Boon, he never existed. So if they introduce him in MK10, then he'll be a "new" character. That and he was originaly gonna be in MKT.

Though they aren't really new. I have to say Tremor and Belokk. I love the idea of bringing a character with little to no development into the game. Skarlet for example is a great addition to the game. So if they could make Skarlet so great just imagine what they could do for Tremor and Belokk.

Kahil Grigesh was a character from the ancient past and his legend ends with him dying. He's like Great Kung Lao or King Jerrod. That makes it kinda difficult to make him an actual character. Not impossible, I suppose...but NPCs don't really exist to be turned into PCs, they exist to flesh out the world and remain parts of people's stories. It's kinda like wanting to play as Sonya's Dad or Johnny Cage's Ex-Wife or Liu's mysterious brother Chow or the Earth/Water/Fire God from Mythologies. The devs don't really go for making these sorts of figures into members of the roster.

There has to be new and fresh ideas for characters in MK10. None of this Tremor, Chameleon, Hornbuckle bullshit that fans come up with, and thank god none of you are working for NRS.

Kenshi, Havik, Bo Rai Cho, and Hotaru are prime examples of great new characters. Everyone else new from MKDA and up are complete shit.

I'd like to see a character with unique play styles, like Deathstroke from DC comics, use a sword and gun ala DMC style, a samurai like character similar to Yoshimitsu or Mitsurugi, a good shotokan / karate type fighter (no not a ripoff of Ken / Ryu / Akuma / Kobra) but something to draw more fighting fan enthusiasts in. Perhaps some Kickboxing or grappling fighters as well.

I would like to see Alibi, Allure, Black Widow, Black Mamba, Bo Rai Cho, Artica, Bishop, Poison Ivy, Forage, Tanaka, Andrew Riddick, Monolith, Oblique, Orchid, Zhi Li Hong, Shen Hui, Sarindebo, Red Virtue, Obsidian Blue, Athenos, Michael Sconzo, Diabolique, Sgt. Owens, Pandora, Cybernetik, Human Sektor, Human Cyrax, Genesis and William Cunningham

These are fully defined characters with an array of specialty moves and techniques we think fans of the Mortal Kombat games will enjoy.

I think Hornbuckle should be in, only...

Don't actually call him Hornbuckle, come up with a real name for him. I think it would ba cool if his name was something like Yoshitsune-Minomoto, the name they originally gave to Liu Kang. Since Hornbuckle is a pallete swap of Liu Kang (Although they should make sure their costumes are different enough if he ever appears) , maybe they should give him Kang's original name, but they should make it simpler because none of the names in Mortal Kombat are that complex.

They could also create new characters out of other names they scrapped. Michael Grimm, the name they planned to give to Johnny Cage has a lot of potential. I think they could make him into another sort of normal character because they're getting kind of rare in the MK universe, as most of the new characters they make aren't from Earthrealm.

Come to think of it, I think there should be a few new fighters from Earthrealm. I think the only female characters we have are Sonya, Frost, and Kira. And really, who cares about Kira (Well I think she has potential, but most people really don't care). We have enough room for more than just a Special Forces agent, a wannabe thug, and a mystical freezing chick. I'd say they should give us three good female characters from Earth.
