The destroyed city and the military base.

One thing I was worried about was that they would again do what they did after MK3, and largely downplay the urban element. The only urban stage we saw post-MK3 and prior to MK9 (or the DC crossover if you count it) was the subway in MKA. But in MKX, it seems as if some of the action will take place on Earth, and not just ancient-looking locations like the Wu Shi academy.

I know, it's only two urban stages (so far), but they'll probably be part of the story mode. And that leaves me curious as to whether Earth will be invaded again, and what role, if any, these two stages will play in the story.

To conclude, a suggestion for another earth-based stage: a bar, with Shokan and Humans in the backgrounds doing all kinds of things, like playing poker and brawling. The stage fatality sees the winner slam the victim on the bar, slide them across through all the glasses and bottles, and set the bar on fire. Characters with fire-based abilities use said abilities to do so.

That is a very creative stage fatality my friend! How about an abandoned zoo, post apocalyptic looking. With a gang of silverback gorillas lurking around in the background. Stage fatality would be them tearing the loser to shreds and flinging their innards around smile

I don't mind them, but they don't give off the same vibe as the MK3/UMK3/MKT ones did. When I was a kid those urban stages gave off a vibe I cant quite explain but I liked it. Same with the Cathedral/Temple/Church or whatever you want to call it, none of its designs have topped the MK3 version for me.

Probably just my nostalgia goggles or something.

Definitely nostalgia. Those barren wastelands have nothing on the urban MKX stages.

The destroyed City stage has very little animation. I really hope they add more to it.

Stage Fatality would be being knocked into the background and ripped apart from the rabid dogs!

I think Stages might have to ways to finish our opponent
