What is the point of the Brotherhood of Shadow in MKX????

So I have been pondering what the point is of the brotherhood of shadow faction in MKX, immediately upon seeing them I thought I would be pick them as my favourite character Noob is like the most prolific member of the group but then I find out he is not in and neither is Reiko another one of my favs and a sometimes brotherhood member.

So looking into the wiki I read that the brotherhood is a cult that worships Shinnok and its members include; Quan chi, Noob, reiko, ashrah, jaataka, Kia and sareen none of who (except quan chi) are in the game either as playable or NPC. Watching the first chapter that details the nethereealm war I expected to see some of these characters at least in NPC roles but no nothing so I ask myself why bother having the brotherhood of shadow in as a selectable faction when their only member is quan chi? I know the Lin kuei only had sub zero in it but that clan has been around since the dawn of mortal Kombat and sub zero is popular enough charcater to make that faction popular but quan chi come on he sucks and if he is the only brotherhood member the. I am not picking it as a faction

It is kind of a waste having the Brotherhood of Shadow and only seeing Quan Chi. The Netherrealm war is the perfect time to reintroduce Sareena.

Exactly. People keep acting like they've revealed every nook and crannie of the game.

What they've released is perfect imo. Not too much, not too little. Just enough to satiate hype appetites.

Brotherhood of Shadow are supporters of Shinnok. Willing devotee's or unwilling revenants, both apply.

As to the actual use of the Brotherhood in game, point is stated above. We've seen one Chapter, we know Shinnok comes back, give it time. Maybe more faces will pop up.

I don't think revenants should count. That would make people have 2 sides. Also ashra left the brother hood. Her goal is to be holy. Sarena also left. You also forgot tanya.

Having seen one chapter is irrelevant. You would think that since the game heavily involves Shinnok that there would be a bigger playable representation of the Brotherhood of Shaddow. If not existing Characters like Noob, Sareena, Jaakata, it would be a good time to introduce new ones.. And If they are going to introduce new ones I don't see why they wouldn't make them playable.. I'd rather see that than 5 "next generation" characters who all just happen to be about the same age...

If we exclude the revenants who are non-playable it seems :(... as well,there re only two members Quan Chi and Shinnok !furious

He is sealed wearing that outfit with the more traditional crown. This one has him with a devil horn styled crown... The one we've seen in the stream.



Looks like he escapes to me.

Wow dude, extremely good find/point. You may have just uncovered who the big bad of the game is. I've been doubting Shinnok as the final boss for months but that picture for sure proves Chapter 1 will not be the only showing of Shinnok. And Shinnok doesn't seem the type of character to play anybody's side kick, like if he's getting out you know he's gonna fuck shit up and not just set the stage for someone else. Cannot wait to see how this all plays out in story mode, but Shinnok's chances of being the final boss for sure just went up.

You guys remember back to MK9?

I remember that from Ed's mouth directly. There is still only 4 DLC characters. Also with MK9, we didn't have the DLC roster. Here, it's all been outed. It doesn't take a lot of thinking or deciphering of NRS' actions to see that there will be more than these 4 DLC characters.

Which brings me to my point... which is $$$$$$$$$$$$$

Smoke and Noob will absolutely destroy DLC sales. People simply love these characters. I can see Fujin as well and dare I say a Cyborg? Part of me would like to see a female but I can't really think of one that would kill it. I originally thought they'd save Ermac for DLC but then he was revealed.

Pending a character death, I'm going to make my own forecast for additional DLC in likelihood of appearance. I'll bank on at least the top 3.
