I would really like to still see smoke in the game if there is to be only very few classic characters making the roster, I liked him in MK9 to play as thought he was great with a good move set an I think they can only elaborate on that with the next gen consoles, but story wise do you think he will be included somewhere along the line? I hope so..

Well, ALL the characters that died and became Quan Chi's slaves have a chance to return, because they will probably lead the attack when Shinnok tries to take over Outworld and Earthrealm. What happens to them afterwards is what we have to worry about.

I am thinking DLC along with Rain and Noob. I would love to have him in the game as well. There is a part of me that thinks every ninja will be back in the game considering only sub and smoke are mortal men, and sub is already back and smoke can technically beat the aging process because of his enenra form. All of them could technically return. I would love it.

It would be awesome to see muh boi Tomas Vrbada again. He was my back up character in MK9 and had some of the best gameplay overall.
And dat hair.
And dat hair.
Let's put it this way, and I'll be unbiased and fair:
I'll kill every single thing that everyone in the world ever loved if he doesn't.
But in all honesty, nobody ever said only a few old folks were coming back. I think his chances are decent to very good, considering he was one of the most used online characters.

Smoke as Enenra could come to replace Noob Saibot as infernal servant of Quan Chi.

Sure, if NRS felt like being super lame.
Given he's consistently been on the top 10 most played list in MK9 (held no. 5 for a long time when the game was at peak popularity) and is one the favorite cult characters of the series I think it would be silly if they didn't include him at least as DLC.
Personally I'd rather his still be human or even cyborg that an Enenra. Last time they demonized Smoke it didn't pan out too well.

Please, he's permanently attached to Sub Zero's hip. Of course he'll be in the game.

I'd like him.
Smoke didn't interest me until MK9, would be sad if we never saw him again.

Smoke as Enera/Demon (MK9 ending) or Cyborg...no other design (human) please. If only as DLC, I won't mind.
We do not need to see Rain this time around in the roster nor DLC.
Sektor and Noob can make the cut.

Smoke's relevance to the plot is overall slim. He was basically a second stringer that got pulled under by Raiden's idiocratic behavior.
Seriously, if he interfered when the LK came to take him away, why didn't he interfere when they came to get Subs? Fucking Raiden, Shujinko is a genius compared to this guy.

I think their reasoning was because they were in the presence of the Lin Kuei grunts, Cyrax, Sektor, and Kahn & Co so he considered them outnumbered and outmatched. I'd call it a flimsy excuse, personally.

A pretty good chance I'd say.

Yeah, I am definitely subscribing to belief that it's Smoke in Kotal Kahn and and Ferra/Torr's variation. Just look at how hard the person playing Ferra/Torr tries to keep from revealing that animation.

I had pretty much accepted the fact that he would not be returning until I read this forum. Curse you all for giving me hope again!
He was my favorite to play as in the last game, so I'd love to see him return, but I still think it's very unlikely.

Holy hell. If that's him, he's...changed. His skin was never grey before; he's either gone partial Enenra or we're looking at the first undead former hero fresh from the Netherealm. Looks like a typical zombie.

If he was to come back for MKX I would 100% rather see him in his human form , I mean it was the first chance we got in MK9 for years to see him stay human, an I think they done a great job.. So to only go back would be crazy.. And as for the demon form where he is just smoke with a mask, I hope that idea gets tossed out the window.

I'd like to see him back, sure. He was one of my mains in MK9. I think he could be a really fun character to use with variations, maybe have his Enera form, a Ninjustu variant, and who knows what else?
I think the fact that Smoke has the "Enera" thing on his side means he can probably recover from the Netherealm faster than our other heroes.

I can barely make out that picture. It's definitely grey..
Smoke was my top main in mk9. Would love a return.. dammm I miss destroying my friends with smoke, is it 2015 yet?
As for his form, I would like to see them incorporate his enenra form into his design but I hope he remains mostly human looking. Couldn't stand some of his older designs post mk3
