I'm confused by the interview with Ed Boon concerning the use of the Unreal 3 Engine in the next game. Is he planning on using it for solely the graphics appeal or for the gameplay and the graphics?

And if he is using it for the gameplay as well, how will this gaming engine be applied to a fighting game?

will it be a first person fighter?

or will it just be a normal fighter with more flexible arenas?

Boon said it would be something like we'd never seen before so its gotta be big.

Either way i'm confused.

first person fighter....haha. If Ed Boon plans to do that, that's just stupid.

To answer your're question, the unreal 3 engine will most like be used for graphic for appeal i would think. Not sure how it could help gamplay though. The engine could be used to apply a more elaborate physics in the game however. (e.g cooler and more realistic look when you toss people around different arenas)

I think it will be a chain link type of effect.

Like, Because they can "see" better, the potential for better ideas in-game will spawn, effecting gameplay indirectly. But not something that will be used soley for gameplay. More creativly allowing them to push forth old and new great ideas for gameplay.

I'm kinda anxious to see what way they take it gameplay wise....because of the better graphics involoved.
