This just sprung to mind as I looked through the different character variations...
Scorpion's Inferno variation has him summon minions to aid him in battle, alot like Noob's shadows in MK9. Does that mean Noob has no chance to come back, as the thing that makes him unique has more or less been given to Scorpion?
What do you think?

I don't know if I'd say it gives him less of a chance, it would just be more difficult to make him unique from what Scorpion has.
If they do bring Noob in, however, I hope they do two of his fighting styles with his clone and one without. Would make his combos very different, I'd imagine.

I was dreading this. But you certainly can be correct. In fact i think your closer to being correct than anything else. It would explain why scorpion has been given this style of fighting now when he has never had these moves in the past..
This may be a bit of a stretch but.. We may start seeing more variations that summon pets such as Ermac for instance could summon souls to do his bidding. I hope they steer clear of this method of filling variation styles because Noob had such an original fighting style I would hate to see it be used in other characters. But... 3 variations per person; I mean we may end up seeing some repeat fighting styles..

One style could have him create portals to teleport or trap the oponent, style 2 should have him use his clone and style 3 should be curse spells, like making the oponent unable to block, or jump, or use specials.
Already made a thread about this, Scorpion's style and Ferra/Torr working as tandem could eliminate him from the equation.
I guess he can always have a style with the clone as 2 characters have tandem moves, another with the ninja stars from Deception and another with his neutralize ball and black hole and teleports I guess.

If Noob's not included, it'd be because he's not that important to this continuation. If Shinnok's Invasion is a minor part of the story, and if this Sub-Zero is actually a new Sub-Zero like he's hinted to be, I don't see Noob's relevance story-wise.
Gameplay-wise, Noob's power was more like a shadow clone. So if Noob is included, I can see his shadow variation playing very different from Scorpion's Inferno one.
And I'm gonna guess Scorpion gets Inferno style from taking over the Netherrealm, thus giving him power over demons.

I don't think so. If Noob comes back his shadow may be regular moves and his variations might have ought to do with his shadow. In general depending on how big the final roster is +DLC there might be a few similar variations in the bunch.
Noob is a ninja wraith, they wouldn't need the clone to make him unique. Besides he's only had a clone in 1 game so it's not like if they were to get rid of Kung Lao's hat, which he's had forever. We've been familiar with Noob's clone for 3/23 years I think he'll be fine if it takes a backseat this time around.
Good thread. I've thought about this already too. Those 2 "Inferno" specials definitely fit Noob better. But I dont think this means he is out of the game. Noob has been included in every game except MK5 (counting MK1 as Bi-Han).. Also, his name is "Boon" spelled backwards for crying out loud, he's gotta be in! LoL
Some ideas for him:
Basic Specials: Black magic energy blast, teleport, clone-slide
Variation 1: "ShadowMancer" allows 2 or 3 other clone specials
Variation 2: "Reaper" gives him the scythe weapon he used in MK4
Variation 3: "Wraith" which gives him black magic based specials. Maybe more teleports, and/or Intangibility. I also thought of a move called the "Dark Freeze" which is essentially a shadow-energy IceBall (a nod to him being a former Sub-Zero). The opponent would freeze into some kinda onyx crystal, instead of blue ice.

I'm going to say Noob is out and Bi Han is in, and Bi Han becoming Lin Kuei Grandmaster will be one of the repercussions of Raiden altering the timeline.

I think Bi Han is Sub-Zero now, so there is no more Noob Saibot. Cyber Sub still might be in.

Oh dear God I hope not, Bi Han as Sub-Zero is duller than a plank of wood compared to Noob Saibot

Pffffttt! You actually think they would get rid of Noob Saibot before Cyber Sub-Zero. Whew, yeah that's the best joke I've heard all day.lol

I think it's possible, no need to be a patronizing dick about it.

Cyber Sub-Zero was a waste. Especially when he gets killed two minutes after getting turned into a freezer

I would LOVE that mix up where you battle without Saibot. Even though i still... to this day think its dumb, that the Shadow is called Saibot.

Maybe the Soulnado stripped Bi Han from Noob Saibot and now there are both of them.

I'd prefer Bi-Han as Noob and Kuai Liang as Cyber Sub-Zero... but that just me. ^^

Except what reason does Bi-Han have to take over the Lin Kuei? What's his motivation? Even if he somehow does return as Sub-Zero why does he have reason to go back to the Lin Kuei at all?
It could be said he knew of the cyber initiative since both Sektor and Cyrax knew of it in MK1 (mk9's version says that anyway).
So, assuming he was alive Bi-Han would have went along with the cyber initiative.
However, Kuai has MAJOR motivation to return and beat Sektor's red robot ass. Sektor did turn him into a refrigerator after all. So, it can be said if someone takes over the Lin Kuei that it wouldn't be Bi-Han.

It seems it's not just you though. Alot of others want that too. But I haven't come by others who want the same as me.

Yeah I'm just tossing ideas out. I prefer Bi Han as Noob and Kuai Liang as Sub-Zero. But as far as what Bi Han's motivation would be, the two brothers were close, and Sektor turned Kuai Liang into a refrigerator against his will. Seems like enough of a reason to usurp the throne to me.
So would that mean the same fate for Mileena? cuz in one of his variations he a has move similar to hers where he summons a clone and it kicks the opponent,,, granted it isnt him physically doing it like mileena does. but same concept, different approach i suppose.... it would suck if she weren't in though because of that tid bit along with noob.
