The two classic MK characters *a bit long*

Obviously, this thread's about which ones you want, and which ones do you think are most likely. I'm not sure if Post-MK3 characters count as classics (at least in NRS' eyes), and even if they do very few are likely (assuming they don't end up on the initial roster). I'll start.

Who we'll likely get imo (from most probable to least):

Baraka
Cyrax
Smoke
Kabal
Nightwolf
Shao Kahn
Noob Saibot
Shang Tsung
Sektor

Noob and Shang Tsung would actually be at the top, if it wasn't for Noob-like clones/minions used by Johnny and Scorpion, respectively, and Shinnok essentially having a Shang Tsung variant or pretty much his whole moveset. Sektor's chances would be better, if Cassie didn't have an overhead missile attack and Jacqui a flamethrower one (if what I read was true), leaving Sektor with nothing left for himself but his teleport punch and the straight missile.

To conclude, every characters on these lists that are Revenants should come with a Revenant skin, something as detailed and as memorable as Jax's rather than Sindel's minimally altered design. I'd love to see how Jade and Stryker would look as Revenants.

Rumor has it that Smoke has a new costume in the story mode and seeing that we have ourselves another popularity contest of a roster, it feels odd Baraka, Shang Tsung or Shao Kahn are likely out. Granted, it's hard to come up with three Barak variations along with the latter two likely replaced by Shinnok and possibly Reiko or maybe even Mileena. ST would feel ode as he's the only one missing from the original game if you think Liu Kang is going to be in.

mk4 came out over 15 years ago, id say they can be considered classics.

so id say 2 mk4 characters, prolly Fujin and Reiko, since they have been prominent in the comics so far.

Smoke, Cyrax and Baraka are obvious choices because of their popularity, I throught Shang Tsung would make it as DLC due to all MK1 characters being in the game, but after the Shinnok moveset I don't know.

From the 3D era the ones I think have a chance are: Fujin and Tanya due to the fanbase's request, Li Mei because of her cameo in the story, Bo Rai Cho because he appears in the web series and has a cameos in MK9, and Frost and Havik, because the team seems to like them.

Thing is, I think plenty of the Post-MK3 characters on the "most likely" list might actually end up on the intial roster, making that list much shorter.

Baraka is the only classic character missing from the MKX cast. That's going by characters they're bringing back from MK1 and 2.

Shang Tsung might be dead. Liu Kang might already be in the game as the boss or a fire god.

IMO, it can't be two random characters. It would make sense for them to be like characters that can be 'paired' together. So, either Cyrax and Sektor or Noob and Smoke.

Since I believe that Havik, Reiko and Fujin are in the game already I'll go with:

DLC kharacters aren't part of the cannon game
Shang Tsung and Shao Kahn will sell the best.

Well, I am pretty sure....or at least would hope in the current new generation of gaming, there will end up being more than only 2 classic MK characters post launch for DLC.

I think one will surely be Tanya, because there needs to be an obligatory female among the DLC, apparently.

The other will either be Fujin or Smoke, I bet.

Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, Baraka, Cyrax, Kabal, Reiko, Bo' Rai Cho, Frost, Havik and Tremor are potential candidates, but less likely, IMO.

If we were to treat these DLC characters the same as MK9 and Injustice, this would be my prediction (I say Injustice because it had more DLC characters than MK9, so I expect that to be the same in MKX):

1. Tremor would be in Skarlet's place (both are kind of, but not really, an actual character that was in a past game).
2. Jason would be in Freddy's place (horror icons, guest fighter).
3. Tanya would be in Rain's place (3D-era characters, plus need a female).
4. Fujin would be in Kenshi's place (3D-era characters, high demand).
5. (Predator/Spawn/Other) would be in Kratos' place (guest fighter).
6. Goro (more DLC than MK9)
7. Baraka or Smoke (more DLC than MK9, plus they're more than likely candidates)
8. Reiko, Havik, or another MK9 character (more DLC than MK9)

I think I'm reaching by putting 8 DLC in there, but perhaps it could come true. If we get this many, awesome; if we get less, well...that's that.

Noob or smoke will definately be one if they don't make the main game they are to popular with both hardcore and casual fans they would sell better then any 3d character and any trilogy character not yet announced

Still thinking Liu and Tsung will be the 2 DLC characters IF they aren't on the initial roster. The Shinnok thing makes it seem like Tsung is less likely but I wont take that as a deconfirmation yet.

Noob

Smoke

Baraka

Kabal

I'm not too excited about paying for characters who have almost always been part of the BASE roster in previous games. So I hope the phrase, "Klassic MK Kombatants" is used loosely to bring use characters who aren't so obvious.

Honestly, I think the 2 classics will be Baraka and Shang Tsung. Why? Because these are the only 2 "classics" absent from MK 1 and 2.

Remember the E3 character select screen sillouettes? One of them was of president Barrack Obama. I'm still sticking by that as being a strong reference to Baraka.

At least those are my thoughts. I know there are strong requests for Cyrax, Fujin, Tanya, Reiko, Havik, etc. but Shang and Baraka are considered more veteran because of their history. Let's not forget these 2 were iconic enough to make it out of 8 characters in MKvsDC. And every MK character in that game are in MKX, so think about that for a second.

It's a strong possibility, but with the rumors of smoke getting a new costume then he could also be a possibility.

I've long thought it'd be Smoke and Cyrax. Both were in the top 7 played characters on every console. Smoke has a new outfit, and Cyrax was alive leaving MK9. There's usually a cyborg in every game.
