The One Being is an all-power entity who existed with the Elder Gods in a timeless void. It fed off of the Elder Gods, which enraged them, so they started a war against it. The Elder Gods created the 6 Kamidogu and used them to shatter the One Being's consciousness thus creating the realms. So basically, the fabric of the realms is made up of the One Being's consciousness. It has been subconsciously manipulating people such as Shao Kahn into restoring its consciousness back into one piece. If that happens, all of the realms and the inhabitants from them will cease to exist and the One Being will return and get its revenge on the Elder Gods.

I don't think that's going to happen. If the One Being were to return, almost all of the MK characters would be gone.

As for the Elder Gods, they don't directly interfere with matters in the realms and simply care about the realms continuing to exist.

Was the one being mentioned in the plot of MKD? If so I played through that game too fast - if not can someone fill me in?

The One Being is mentioned in Shujinko's bios as well as in Konquest when Shujinko first arrives in Edenia.

Also, the One Being is hinted in Ermac's alternate bio and his ending.

The easiest solution to that would be bringing in the One Being in an 'incomplete' state, or have his full subconscious possess a physical form within the realms.

As for the Elder Gods, they may force themselves to get involved, if the threat of the One Being becomes too prevalent, but since the One Being plot seems to have been abandoned by Midway at this point, I highly doubt that we'll hear form either of them again.

Technically, if you wanna play as the One Being, you should just select Onaga.

uh no.....onaga is tech. reptile, no where near the one being. reguardless of who tries to bring back the one being, they can NEVER be the one being. even in onaga's ending in deception if he won all it said was is he was to battle the one being and eliminate him and such...so either way still, onaga is NOT the one being. onaga actually is just some random warlord from back in the days before kahn, nothing that special about him.
