The blackened fog during the fatalities may be added later on, and may be turned off just for this demo to show us what to expect. They did the same thing for the last MK in E3 2010 where they showed a bunch of fatalities without a darkened background: Clicky

Yeah it does look better with the background on. Maybe if they just dim the background a little bit but you still see it? I think that's what it looks like right now.

Here is an idea, let the enviroment darken up as the fight progresses.


Imo, the harbor arena could have an incoming typhoon, and when the health bar hits zero, then it begins to thunder and rain.

This is a little out of the thread but, am I the only one who was disappointed by "new" looks of X-Rays? I was really excited when i saw them in the announcement trailer, but they look nothing like that.

I think players should be able to decide whether the background turns black or not during fatalities and X-Rays.

I was a little disappointing yes. Nothing severe though. I had hoped that the fatalities and xrays mid fight would be CG then seemlessly go back to the fight. The CG xray in the trailer looked amazing. But alas those are extremely high expectations.

I just watched the trailer again, 1 thing i spotted while at the fatalities, is probably sub-zero's iconic Ice grenade fatality, CHECK IT OUT!

Really nice find, Cyrax. I recognize also something. In the fatality scene from the bug lady you see a hole in the chest from Sub Zero. Maybe the flies goes first through the chest and "eat" the face from Sub from inside to outside?

I think that the x-rays are a bit too long. I would have liked to see it 1/3 shorter (so 2 internal views, instead of 3).

I was a huge fan of the xrays in MK9

so pleased to see they were not a one hit wonder, the new ones look awesome!

Yes probably right, she throws something at Sub-zero a few seconds before the rest is show, than at the second time they show Sub-zero being devoured it shows a hole on the right in his chest.

Jap, i mean exactly this. The fatalities are more gorier than in MK9 and i thought it couldn't be more badass :D Oh, i found something. at 2:09 at the trailer you see her shooting the flies against Sub an then a hole appears right above the right leg near stomach. i think she shoots several times her flies against him. first above the leg, then on the left chest and at last hit the head or the flies "eat" their way through the Body and Comes out of the head.
