The Mortal Kombat for Kids Forum!
I'd like to dedicate this forum to Scot Bayless, who despite being a fairly intelligent guy, has shown his lack of street smarts in a recent article which can be found on the front page. Qouting from this article --
Despite a Wii version of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon announced for spring of 2007, Bayless remains generally hesistant about bringing Mortal Kombat to a platform known to draw a young audience, adding, "Is there something else we might do with Mortal Kombat that could be appropriate for that audience? Maybe. We’re actually kicking some ideas around." Does this mean Mortal Kombat for Kids? Bayless laughs. "We can't tell you what they are, but they're pretty cool."
"We actually have some very concrete plans that we're chewing on right now," he concludes. "And we're pretty serious about it, and you'll probably hear about it next year, but we just can't talk about it – as much as I'd like to."
Here's to the guy who does not realize that Wii has expanded the market from hardcore gamers, to casual gamers, to kids, sports fans, to parents, to even grandparents. So OBVIOUSLY, the next course of action is to make MK-4-Kidz! Because only kids buy Wii's and DS's!
This forum is dedicated to Bayless' stupidity, and for discussing possible ideas on what this next grand step in the Mortal Kombat franchice is going to do. Yay. -_-

The Wii and GameCube were both targeted for Kids, and when the GameCube came out people complained about it being "just for kids." Quite honestly GameCube and the Wii will have games for adults, like when they brought Resident Evil to the GameCube... Sure sounds like a kids game to me.
Maybe people feel the Wii is targeted for kids cause it involves motion and activities. By that logic, adults must be content to playing with a controller and not moving or exercising.
I know FAR more adults who bought the Wii, just because it looked fun in the commercials. These are adults that bought the Wii and have absolutely no interest in video games, because they are for kids and they need something more interactive than just staring at a screen. They just feel the whole concept is legitimately fun and different than your average video game.
MK might not be the biggest seller on the Wii, but it will sell. Even by the logic that the Wii is for kids... those kids have fathers that remember Mortal Kombat I assure you Kids go to sleep, MK comes out!
One last thing... there is MK for kids, its just called Super Smash Bros

No it shouldn't be for kids.
Just make a chibi version and kids will stick to it. (Of course make it still gory)

Twisted Metal did that for kids, the Small Brawl, that was pathetic, I've been playing MK since i was two, okay two, have i ever cried becuase the game frigthened me? i thought it was pretty hilaious, and my mother is still proud of my brother and myself for learning how to rip spinal collumns out of others' back. But if this game went down the gay pride road, i will swear to this moment that i will kill the creators... this game will and never have a happier moment in Mortal Kombat history.
