Plenty of people on this board have dismissed certain ideas and theories, because uh, the game's going to be dark and all. Like Bo Rai Cho making the cut, without a serious revamp to fit the game's dark atmosphere.

Now, I don't know if anyone from NRS actually said it was going to be, like, the darkest MK game ever, but I know fans have this tendency of taking developers' words way too literally. When MK vs DC Universe was in development, many went on and on about including iconic characters, dismissing the possibilty of lesser known characters making the cut because they weren't iconic and all. Yet, many were surprised that Baraka was included. Kano isn't all that iconic, at least he's certainly not the first character that comes to many people's mind when it comes to MK. On the DC side, Deathstroke might have been it's least iconic character. So sure, we mostly got icons, but we still also got a few lesser known characters. Super Smash Bros games keep surprising people with it's inclusion of obscure characters, even though we're already at the fourth installment.

To bring up Bo Rai Cho one more time, MKD was a darker game than MK:DA, yet here he was again, still farting, either to get up or to fry people in one of his fatalities, with said fatality ending with him laughing not diabolically, but jovially, with the fatality theme playing, all the while.

So my point is, that even if it was said somewhere (and not assumed by fans) that MKX is gonna be the darkest ever MK game, we'll still get some humor. Cassie's fatality should have made it obvious. People really need to cool off on the whole dark thing.

Cassie shows that there is room for some light-hearrted fun in the game. Her intro and her fatality are examples of that. So no matter ow dark the setting might be, there's always room for some fun. ^^

I really loved her fatality. It had a lot of personality in it and had that dark humor. The types of fatalities I hope they don't repeat are stuff like(From MK 2011) Jax's head punt, Ermac's shrink and stomp, Shang Tsung's clown, etc. The way they did Cassie's fatality is the perfect blend of humor, brutality and personality. Really really hope they keep that up for the rest of the characters.

E3 showed us a stage where you throw an old lady at the opponent.

So...y'know...just because they're being less retarded and cartoony with the look of characters (and hopefully the story) doesn't mean they're abandoning their old habit of sneaking in humor, they're just being thoughtful about how they do it. I bet there'll be Friendships or Babalities again too.
