I think that is a bridge in the background. There also seems to be some steps on it. Edit: I looked at it on a bigger screen and i think its a gate of some sort or an archway with a path running under it.

With WB/NRS's announcement of getting to play multiple variations of each character, I'm really wondering if that means multiple universes will be crossing over in this (In the old timeline, all of the now deceased characters still exist).

So perhaps what we're seeing in the background is a "bridge" between universes? I think I'm reading too much into it. LOL!

I'll be fucking pissed if this isn't a stage. It's gotta be, it's gorgeous. I love snow levels. So adding the snow into a forest back drop with that MK touch is really turning me on.

To me the stage was the most disappointing thing in the trailer besides the song choice. It doesn't look MK to me at all. It's very boring looking especially if that is Sub Zero's stage.

I'd rather have a redone MK5 arena with Ice Stalagmites with a Ice Temple in the background.

What about the Frozen Forest is boring to you, and what about it doesn't fit into MK?

The arch looks like a more "natural" gateway/portal, like in that old Star Trek episode.

At one point, shadows in the trees made me wonder if it was a backhoe excavator covered in snow, but that would be an oddly specific/out of place vehicle...

The trees are just plain. No faces or creepiness about them. Look at any Background from MK9 and there is allot going on in the background. This Arena seems to be incomplete IMO.

I do love the snow and intractables and the lighting effects that we should expect from a new fight engine.

I think it's great! It looks very realistic and if you can really use branches as weapons then it's a score! That said I'm hope for far better arenas in the future.

I totally get where you're coming from. It would be cool to see this as a frozen-over living forest.

But there's something to be said for the stillness that comes with new fallen snow when you're out in the woods at night. You don't need a lot going on, and that stillness can up the creep-factor ten fold.

Perhaps they will add more to this stage since it is still a year from release. Or perhaps there is more to it that we haven't seen. Either way, I'm diggin' it right now.
